You know, it's interesting that they made/sold more US cars in 2005 than they did in 02, 03 or 04.
In fact, they made/sold about 50% more cars in 2005 than in 2003. That's kinda odd isn't it?
Did people know that 2005 was the last year and start snatching them up?

Yeah definately due to the lease rate. I remember seeing that in a magazine and thought to myself "wow"...what a deal. But I think that deal was brought in to help sell off the remaining production numbers but I could be wrong , hence why so many sold?
I remember getting one of those flyers in the mail about that lease program.
I briefly thought about it till I read the mileage restrictions. It seemed like it was stupid low before turn in penalty would kick in.

The lease deal, yeah, but I think it was fairly common knowledge that 2005 was the last year (at least it was on 'prime, IIRC), and so I think a lot of people who were on the fence or perpetually "waiting for next year" went ahead and pulled the trigger.
