Anybody read about the 2002 NSX spoiler mod? They pasted a piece on the trunk lid under the spoiler ( the specs say), reduced the drag coeffieient from .32 to .30 and helped incease the speed another 10 mph (acording to Road and Track ). Any one buy this piece and try it?

it looks like it should be a direct bolt on.... i personally like the older tails better.

I posted a similar question a while back, I never got an answer so finally I went to the
deaeler to find out some information.

From what I recall the piece is not tapped it
is held by several bolts, that means drilling
the trunk..

Do a search in the main forum, you should be
able to find the original post that I had a while back.

Can someone post a pic of it? I'm curious of what purpose does this add-on spoiler piece serve (more down draft??) or is it mainly cosmetic to give thickness to the rear spoiler?? Enquiry minds want to know....

The actual part number for the rear spoiler on the 2002 is different than the earlier models, so is the little spoiler on the deck lid going to fit between the earlier spoiler?
The add on spoiler allready comes factory painted and it retails for $480.00.

From what I recall, seems its either bolted or uses snap or pop-in type fasteners in just a couple of places along its length.

Thanks to all for the replys to the inquiry.
If I understand correctly the new addition is to increase the speed of the airflow through and off the deck lid --- the Bernoulli effect? -- venturi? I forget. The internal pressure increase (between the spoiler and deck) causes air to move through faster? or am I totally mistaken? Saw one up close at Road America and it looks as if they just "glued" it on. Like the idea, don't like the look.

I'm taking a guess here, but I would assume that the decklid spoiler deflects air from arcing down creating turbulence and vacuum behind the car, therefore reducing drag.
