I went to the CAT scales and weighed my 2002 NSX last night. It weighed in at 2940 I was not in the car and I had a quarter tank of gas. I did have a full bottle of Nitrous (22lbs).
I have the following done for weight savings.
Spare tire and bracket removed
Oddesy Battery (14lbs)
SSR 18inch wheels
Tein RA's
Carbon Fiber side Vents
K Craft Carbon Fiber mirrors
Recaro SPG's
Engine cover removed
Comptech headders
Tatiec light weight center exit exhaust
Carbon Kevlar rear diffuser

I guess short of taking out the floor mats, AC, radio, change the glass hatch to lexan I guess there is no other weight savings to be had.

I will do the lexan hatch with no scoop but all else will remain. Any other ideas?

I went to DALI for the weight loss plan.
I wanted to see if any of you came up with another weight savings idea.

Thanks for the help.

This sounds weird, but it is worth another 20+ lbs. Take out your seat mounts and mount the seats directly to the floor. Your seats are much lighter than stock, but not with the sliders and mounts. By the time you mount those things to the seats, you are back up in the 30+ pound range. That may be a bit much for the passenger seat (could just remove it altogether!), but once you know where you want the driver's seat, just bolt it to the floor.

You can also remove some engine cover parts, but that is only a few pounds. Going back to smaller wheels will save you alot between less wheel weight and less tire weight. Change to Hoosiers, no steel belts, weigh less. Remove stock seat belts for 2" five point belts, but that may be offset by the harness bar. If you really serious, and it is not against the law, change steering wheels to a competition wheel like SOS or Dali has, and remove the passenger air bag. That should be ~40 lbs.

Or get really aggressive and rip out the interior altogether, as seen on this ugly (but scary fast:D) track rat which weighed in at 2580 without driver and only a couple of gallons of gas with just the driver's seat (picture shows both seats installed-see above).

Are you sure the 18" SSR's are lighter than the OEM wheels?

Very impressive Gary. :)
