EVO the UK's top motoring magazine has just reviewed the new 2002 NSX and absolutely love it !
"one of the best and most rewarding supercars on the planet" Is what thay said after giving it a blat round the Motegi East track near Tokyo.
The changes have mainly affected the aerodynamics reducing the CD to 0.30 and reducing the front and rear lift coeficients.
Top speed is up due to the more slippery body and the new lower weight fixed headlights (which apparently save about 10kg) improves turn in.

I have scanned the complete article and sent a copy to Lud incase he can post it but overall it looks much as we thought that as our cars are so good already then why mess with it!

Cheers

Anyone know why they state power as 276 bhp, when it's rated as 290 in the States? And whether this has anything to do with their claim of top speed increasing from 162 to 168 mph, whereas in the States it's claimed to increase from 168 to 175?

Or the 0-60 at 5.7 sec??????????

The 5.7 seconds is a 0-62 figure (they use this because it's from 0 to 100 kmph). I assume it translates to 0-60 at around 5.5 seconds or so - but that's still significantly higher than the Stateside testers. Maybe it's higher because it's only Honda's claim, which may be overly conservative compared with actual results achieved by the professional test drivers employed by the magazines. Or maybe we have quicker test drivers on this side of the pond.

Keep in mind they tested a Type S (from the looks of the picture) and not a US heavier and softer suspensioned Type T.

Well, that would make their tested model faster, not slower. So much for that explanation...

"+ Now even better to drive
- Not so nice to look at"

This is EVO's verdict and I cannot agree more: even if I had no possibility of driving it I believe Honda engineers made a wonderful work in tuning aerodinamic/tires for the facelifted models

. And from the photos I also agree that the designers...

I was referring to the original comment (I should have quoted), that said the following:

Sorry Guys,

If the Original Comment as mentioned by S2Ktaxi has mislead anyone then that's my fault, I just paraphrased some snippets from the review as I didn't know if the whole article could be published.
B.T.W. I assume the tech data was supplied by Honda as this was not a comprehensive test.
When EVO does these you know about it, with the latest d-GPS timing gear and some pretty darn fast drivers, (didn't our Nigel Mansell come over there and kick some a**

)

The power output may be different if the ECU has been adjusted for European regs as everyones Emissions crazy over here right now. boo hiss..

AFAIK the 3.0l car (like mine) was rated at about 270 BHP according to Honda UK the 3.2L car is 280ps where Japanese PS = 0.98632 BHP
this equals 276bhp are US "horses" the same as english ones or a little weedier ?

I believe the US uses "horses" to refer to bhp. And in the US, the '91-96 was rated at 270 hp, the '97+ at 290 hp.
