Everytime i take my car out on a beautiful Sunday. i have peoples wanna race with @ a Stop light /they Repp their Engine and look @ me.Do most of u have the same situation in this Forum as i do.

I see that there is nothing to prove, and there is absolutely no point racing with every single idiot that revs his engine at you. I got the car for my personal enjoyment, not to prove which car is faster. There will always be another car that's faster, better, or more expensive.

I usually look over, give a smile and a nod, and that's it. If the other driver chooses to speed through the street, and plows into other cars or pedestrian, that would his own choice.

At the end of the day, I go home in my X knowing that I made a good decision in getting the car, and not my car is faster than x, y, z.

I work very near the assembly plant/headquarters for Saleen. Every few weeks I'll find one out for a quick spin before being shipped off to a dealer. When I'm in my NSX they always want to race - which is odd since you'd think they'd get fired if they were caught...

Anyway, I don't take them up on the offer. I didn't get my car to race it (at least not on city streets). Besides, the penalties would be too severe if I got caught. Even if I did get my car back from impound my wife would make me sell it - then she'd kill me, and that would s*ck...

When I got my NSX, I was amazed at how stupid drivers become around it. One evening when I was driving home, a motorcycle speed up to pass me, cut in front of me, and because he was looking more in his mirrors at me than he was at the road in front of him, he drifted into a curb and wiped out (at least he wasn't hurt). It always amazes me how many people turn in front of me or change lanes in front of me - people think "he has a nice car, he won't hit me" Other drivers hit the gas so they can have the thrill of passing an exotic car. You have to be extra alert when you drive an exotic car.

I don't have too many people trying to race me, but I woudn't anyway. People who challenge the NSX at a light are missing the point of the car. The NSX isn't a quarter mile kind of a car. There are plenty of cars that can get off the line faster - especially in the thin air one mile up where I live. Just about anything with a V8 will have the low end power to leave me in the dust. Now throw in a curve a few hundred yards down.....
