1st Issue in 14 years

Well my Climate control system started acting up during this past weekend, it only work on Hi. I know the that this is a know issue with the Climate control, with the drying out and shorting of the capacitors on the board.

What is remarkable, is this is the first problem ever seem on this car is 14 years.


This is just one testament for the quality of the NSX.

just another reason why the nsx is such a great car lol super reliable well i guess if the owner takes care of it and doesnt neglect the car...but they sure dont make them like they use to thats for sure...

Hi Bram....

It sounds like you need a fan-blower motor resistor...

Part # 79340-SL0-A01... The cost of this part is $296.37

There are 3 of these currently in the Toronto wearhouse...

the blow resistor is on the fan blower unit, accessed from the front bonnette.
its actually quite easy to get at, remove battery, drop down that whole huge black fan blow unit and look on its side, you should see the electronics...
however,
i think your problem may be a capacitor on the a/c circuit board, it is probably a leaking cap, replace them all, easy weekend job too actually, if you have soldering skills.

Exactly what is to be hit with the hammer -- the CC board or Bram? LOL. Can't wait to meet you guys next weekend in London.

LOL....Jeff you will find that we are a special bunch of people, and you"ll have a great time in London with the other members. we are expecting to get 12 or more NSX's out to this event.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend the London event, so we'll have set-up another event and get you up here.

Bram, we're Canadian and accordingly "special". Sorry you won't be attending the SW Ont get together -- hope to see you in the fall.

And as for the CC board going south kind of funny that mine went at the 14 year old point as well. Hope indeed (for both of our cars) that nothing goes wrong in next 14 years (knock on wood). I really like my /94 but there is a side of me that wouldn't mind a nice low mileage Silverstone /04 or /05! Even though they are Hondas a 10 year newer car is still a 10 year newer car!

Yeah, mine's the same, but now that my windows work it's not an issue. :smile:

I see you've now got the environmentally friendly 2-60 air conditioning system... 2 windows down cruising at 60km/hr. :wink:
 
Mine does the same thing. I thought i was crazy and just couldn't figure out how to run this AUTO climate control. I have to have it on auto and Full cold and the blower full high for it to work, if not it has this slight breeze that don't do anything.
