Maintenance Information
1997 was the first year of the NA2 vintage, with larger desplacement engine, 6-speed transmission, and bigger brakes, among numerous other improvements. This car is serial number 50 of the 338 that were sold in NA in 1997. Only 41 were red/tan, which is acknowledged to be the fastest NSX color combination.

Maintenance: Timing belt, water pump, and all drive belts + vallve adjustment was performed @ 46,000 miles. Fresh Mobil 1 & OEM filters every 3500 miles.
Tires: Yokohama Advan Neova AD08s. 215/40 x 17 fronts, 255/40 x 17 rear. Fronts are 70% tread remaining, rears are new. New OEM front spoiler.

Brakes are about 50% front & rear.

I have all maintence docs from 2nd owner plus that work I've had done by Chris Wayland @ Flatiron Acura in Boulder. 2nd owner provided a clean Carfax.

Originally sold in FL and acquired 40K miles there before it moved to Vancouver WA in 2001. That owner put 8K miles over 9 years when I purchased the car. It's lived in Colorado since.

The paint is original and excellent except for a small ding under the r/r bumper. Nose was removed, disassembled, stripped, primed and repainted to remove minor rock pits. Leather is excellent with very slilght wear on driver's side bolster. Carpets/mats are original and excellent.

Everything works. The heater heats, the AC blows cold, windows and antenna go up & down. The clutch is smooth and the brakes brake. I have replaced the Main Relay (bad problem to have), thermostat, trunk shocks, and R/R CV boot. Otherwise, 5 years of Honda Civic-like reliability.

The car has passed CO emission testing every year without modification.

Details
Modifications are few and tasteful.

I'm 6'4" and needed more headroom. Rather that go with aftermarket seats (the stock seats are more beautiful than any of them), I had the driver's side seat modified at a custom shop. The seat pads were removed and replaced with custom fit gel pads (think Dr. Shoals). Then the thigh bolster was re-contoured and the whole thing sewed back together. It is indistinguishable from stock except that I gained 2+ inches of headroom. My wife is short and needs a "booster" seat so if you are vertically challenged, you may need to change it back.

An aftermarket cat-back exhaust was installed by the 2nd owner. Not sure of the make but it sounds great!

Bilstein shocks are installed on the lower perch which lowers the car almost an inch without destroying the ride. Stock springs were retained. 4-wheel alignment was performed post install.

Wheels are from the 2002+ NSX. 17 1/2" front, 17 x 9" rear. No scuffs or curb rash. Yokohama tires as listed above.

The stock tail light lenses are replaced with 2002+ OEM lenses & center bezel. These were purchased new less than 1 year ago.

The Acura badge on the nose was replaced with the JDM "H" badge on a yellow background. Wheel center caps are also trimmed with yellow background.

Outside rear view mirrors were replaced with convex, blue-tinted mirrors offered in a Prime group guy. Great mod as it improves rear/side vision on a car that has almost none.

A USASPEC PA11-HON iPod/iPhone adapter replaced the OEM CD player. The original CD player is included.

Also included are: 2 keys with keyless entry fob, owner's manual, factory service manuals, and an SOS car cover.

This car has always been garaged, never smoked in, adult driven with no track time.

The first gen NSXs are becoming more valuable every day. Hagerty insurance tracks the selling prices of rare and collectable car for insurance purposes. You can access this data at www.hagerty.com. Bytheir standards, this car is in "2 Excellent" condition.

I'm happy to arrange a pre-purchase inspetion at the buyer's expense. I recommend Chris Wayland at Boulder Flatiron Acura. He is familiar with the car and is one of the nation's most respected NSX technicians.

I don't have to sell this car and I'm not sure I want to so please, no low ball offers, tire kickers or joy riders.

Don't hesitate. This rare NSX won't last long.
