With great reluctance, I am selling my beloved 1997 Targa of which I am the fourth owner. With 52,775 miles, this car is the definition of a garage queen which is why it’s on the market. Clear title, clean CARFAX, never tracked, non-smoker and accident-free, this may be the finest example of an unmolested ’97 on the planet. All service records are available from Day One and all regular maintenance has been performed on the car whether it needed or not. TB/WP was done at 37,150; a thorough inspection including clutch inspection was performed at time of purchase in ’08 @ 40,122 by Barney Demonbreun (Barn Man) who told me just to drive the damn thing and not worry about it. Since then, I’ve had Barney go through the car once a year which mostly involved changing the oil (Mobil 1) and checking the wearables. I did replace the taillights & gaskets in 2011 as the originals had internal moisture from deteriorating seals. As reference, Dan Hamilton at TrackOne Motorsports in Franklin, also a Master NSX Tech, installed the NSX-R pedal set and declared this car to be maybe the cleanest NSX he'd ever seen for the mileage.

Spares include OEM water pump, clutch, pressure plate and throwout bearing and front lip, 1-17” rear wheel (refinished) and all extra OEM parts that have been replaced with aftermarket. Extras include an OEM car cover, nose mask, service apron, 1997 NSX brochure, laminated replica window sticker with correct dealer and Port of Entry info, a BNIB JDM Nav Pod bracket and HELM factory service manual.

Modifications are as follows:
PERFORMANCE
Dali radiator and condenser shields, JDM NSX-R Pedal Set, Science of Speed NSX-R chassis bars, Science of Speed extended thread gearshift stalk, Dave’s short shift kit, JDM NSX-R shift boot, JDM Civic FD2 Type-R aluminum shift knob and 4300K HI/LOW HID from whiteNSXs (Steve).
EXTERIOR
Complete XPel Paint Protection Film kit on front end, including ENTIRE hood, bumper, both fenders, mirrors, A-pillars and roof strip above windshield, clear front side markers from NSXClear, complete Gorilla 20 lug locking kit with key, Shark Attack antenna, front and rear calipers powder coated red with silver “NSX” lettering.
INTERIOR
JDM map bag, complete LED dome and courtesy light conversion from comtec (Mike), complete Zanardi mat set (fronts & trunk) with Hexomat covers, door sashes custom wrapped with 3M DINOC carbon fiber wrap by s4play, custom CNC cup holders in gunmetal from ONEADAM12 / zetoolman, Blitzsafe HON/M-Link1 V.1D iPod/CD changer adapter with ProClip iPod mount & Panavise custom NSX bracket, Shark Attack antenna, hardwired to power Escort 9500iX radar detector and hardwired for a Battery Tender Jr., JDM cabin air filter with spares.

This car has been professionally detailed twice under my watch and inspired me to unleash my inner detailer so it’s gotten a full detail after every road trip. Full disclosure requires that I mention 3 small paint defects, a rock chip on the hood which was touched up and then covered with the PPF, a small (1 ½-2”) scratch on the right lower bumper just above the front lip, also touched up and covered by the PPF and a smaller (1/2”) scratch from a rock on the left rear quarter at the spoiler. I tried to paint correct it but was unable to get it all of the way out. Personally, I believe this scratch could be wet sanded and removed; I’m just not comfortable with doing so. There’s also a small indentation on the rear bumper next to the license plate cutout that’s noticeable in the right light and angle.

Having said all of this, someone’s going to get one hell of a car that’s been extremely well taken care of and has what I consider tasteful modifications that suit the car’s character.
