This car is part of a private NSX collection. Only 1 of 14 in '96 with Red/Black/Auto combination. I purchased this NSX almost 10 years ago with 98,406 miles. It now has only 104,630. I have been collecting NSXs for over 20 years. I love the cars and have always believed they would significantly increase in value, especially the 1995-2001 models. My daughter starts college this fall and it has always been my plan to slowly start letting them go at that time, but honestly, it's going to be difficult!
As with all my cars, this NSX is stock, original, no accidents, clean Carfax. It's been fanatically maintained by Acura master mechanic Steve Metcalf, who has been working on Hondas for 40 years, and has been the local NSX expert since '91. Each car gets a Mobil1 oil change every spring and fall, regardless of miles driven. And all maintenance is done proactively. We don't wait for dash lights to come on! Everything on the car is 100% functional. This is an all-around extremely solid NSX. At 104k miles it has the expected tiny touched up road chips on front bumper, the lower lip has some scratches, etc. But you'll be hard pressed to find a 100k+ mile car with a better original interior. Paint is all original and in fantastic condition. I have a red '95 with no miles and parked side by side the paint on this car looks every bit as good. Kept in a climate-controlled garage, waxed and detailed annually, NSX car cover, etc. I haven't driven it in the rain, and I never park it out in the direct sunlight for more than an hour or two.
I realize many enthusiasts are looking for a M/T model. I once felt this way. But having NSXs for years I now strongly prefer the A/T. It's more relaxing to drive and you can paddle shift when you want a more exciting experience. I've also discovered that regardless of what the current owner may tell you, the manual cars have almost always been driven hard, auto-crossed, etc. at some point in their lives. A/T versions are often pampered and they haven't required near as much maintenance and replacement of worn out parts as the manual ones I have.
You could jump into this car and drive across country without hesitation. The new owner should experience years of low maintenance enjoyment. An unlike an ultra-low mile one, you can drive this NSX without guilt, enjoy date nights, cars n coffee, draw attention everywhere, yet it's still going to appreciate in value.
I live 15 minutes from DFW airport and would be happy to pick you up if you'd like to see it. Feel free to bring your mechanic! I'm happy to answer any questions or take more pictures of anything you'd like.
Also, I've never been one who liked negotiating, so I've priced the car at a very fair price.
fyi, I will be spending the first couple months of the summer on vacation with my family, so if the car doesn't find a new home by Memorial Day, I'll be keeping it probably for another year!
