Less than 5k miles on a refreshed 1992/02-R conversion. This has been my afterwork hobby for many years, and it is time to find the next project!
Details
92 GPW converted to an 02+ NSX-R with a Lovefab turbo system - tuned to 575hp on 90 octane.
Paint and body:
- Repainted original OEM Grand Prix White and engine bay painted black (TJ Design)
- 02 headlights and taillights - the headlights have been painted GPW and the taillights and side markers have been tinted.
- Downforce Carbon NSX-R hood w/functional air-duct
- NSX-R FRP rear wing w/working light, Downforce 02 side skirts, underbody panels, and carbon rear window garnish
- OEM front and rear bumper assemblies, STMPO aluminum rear bumper beam
- OEM NSX-R window badges and Honda emblems
- New Door and trunk rubbers, new wheel well inserts
- New OEM windshield
Interior and Electronics:
- SOS door handles, carpet cover plates
- Honda Navigation pod with Alpine display and GPS
- New Alpine Bluetooth stereo and amp, with Hertz speakers, upgraded subwoofer and enclosure
- Upgraded factory seats with high quality red fabric (special breathable grabby material)
- Downforce Carbon console and sill covers, Momo steering wheel, other carbon upgrades
- NSX-R shifter plate and titanium shifter ball
- SPA pillar gauge cluster (Boost/Fuel pressure - Oil temp/Ambient temp)
- Alcantara door inserts
- 5 point harness bar
- AEM ECU tuned by Shane @ DB Performance (a top AEM tuner)
- AEM turbo controller
High performance engine build - configured for reliable street performance: (capable of higher HP)
- Work performed by Elite Motorsports and Motors by Gosh
- Benson sleeves, JE pistons, Pauter titanium rods
- Billet Oil gears, ARP head and rod and bolts
- VVIS delete kit, new knock sensors, VTEC solenoids, most all sensors and gaskets replaced
- Venair silicon hose kit
- ATI damper, Gates racing belts
- SOS oil pressure adapter kit, SOS camshaft buttons
- Lovefab turbo kit with long tube headers, Precision 6765 BB turbo, TIAL BOV
- Super-sized water to air intercooler, AEM methanol injection
- Upgraded fuel system, dual pumps, Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator and Injector Dynamics 1000cc injectors.
- Refreshed 5-speed, with SOS twin carbon clutch and new OEM driveshafts and mid shaft bearings
- STMPO Crankcase breather kit
Suspension and brakes:
- Racing Brake vented rotors all around w/Racing brake calipers up front and factory rear
- Upgraded ABS t0 02 version, new brake lines, SS brake lines to calipers
- 02' Wheels with Falken Azenis rt615k.
- KWv3 suspension
- Cedar ridge non-compliance front clamps and rear beam bushing kit w/camber, adj and Non-compliance toe-links
- Dali sway bars with adj. Cider Ridge bar links. Plus new bearings and updated ball joints.
The goal of this build was to have a dependable daily driver with no performance compromises -it is incredibly fast and reliable.
There are many more things that have been thoughtfully improved or upgraded, happy to discuss.
