For Sale: FactorX FX500 Turbo 1992 Black/Black NSX
Chasis Mileage: 96,360
Post-FactorX Motor Build Mileage: < 3000 miles
VIN: JH4NA1159NT000389
All Inclusive Price: $42,000 obo (Includes car & the entire extras list)
Car Only Price: $39,500 obo (Everything currently attached to the car)

As you can probably tell from the asking prices, I prefer to go with an all inclusive offer so I can free up the extra space in my basement that NSX parts currently occupy and to prevent me from having to go through all the time to sell the stuff off individually. The aggregate used value of all the extras is significantly higher than the $2500 delta I'm asking.

Modifications:

I bought this NSX in February 2005 after I gummed up the front-end of my first NSX at Watkins Glen. The FactorX stuff from my first NSX was transplanted to my current NSX in the spring of 2005. Between my lack of time to drive the car these days and the fact that it is due for its 2-year emissions inspection by May 31st, it is time to sell the car. Seeing as though the turbo setup does not have accommodations for catalytic converters, it will be a royal pain for me to go through the ‘process’ to pass. Keeping with the lack of cats point, if you have mandatory emissions testing in your area… this is probably not the car for you unless you ‘know a guy’.

Since getting the FX500 motor build and turbo fabrication completed at FactorX, I have only put 2500-3000 miles on the turbo system/built motor. I run it on standard premium fuel for both of the programmed boost settings on the boost controller. The first setting, Channel 1, is wastegate boost only (approx. 9.5 lbs) and yields mid to high-400’s rwhp. The second channed yields about 13-13.5 lbs of boost and nets low-500’s rwhp. The SBDII boost controller is a very nice controller and has other programmable channels, but I only have the first two configured. I highly recommend that you get the car’s tune massaged when you get it to your home climate. From what I have seen with these boosted cars, significant changes in elevation/atmospheric conditions impact how well the car runs.

I will only do test drives for extremely serious buyers.

Known Issues
• Trunk struts do not hold the trunk up on their own, Engine Hatch Struts still strong though
• Radio Antenna does not go all the way down on its own
• Clutch is notchy and there is some bearing whine when the clutch is depressed that seems more apparent in cold weather. Clutch has zero slippage in any gear though.
• Paint on the nose has some chips on the underside. Prior to my ownership the nose was repainted after something fell on it in the previous owner’s garage. In my opinion the paint job was not very good. Some of the underside portions have overspray-like unevenness. These areas are out of plain sight though.
• The front right Volk has some curb rash that can be seen in the pics
• Windows are slow, but seal fairly tight so the wind noise is a bit less than on most older NSX’s
• One of the hoses of the Fuel Pressure regulator seems to have a seal issue because the smell of fuel is noticeable the next day if the car is parked in a closed garage after driving. Other than the smell coming from the FPR, there is no discernable leak and no fuel pressure issues on or off boost.
• Current Battery is very weak, have a new one though that I bought at Costco
• Subwoofer sounds blown on heavy bass notes

Please contact me through PM’s so I can make sure that all messages are received and not trapped by spam filters. I will be happy to set up live conversations with serious prospective buyers.

Thank you,
Jason
