After 22 1/2 years my beloved NSX will not start, it has 45k. It cranks over and over. I replaced the main relay and resistor. Still not luck. Driving back from Phoenix I went through snow and rain in Flagstaff. The first for my car. Anyway, I had the local Acura dealer check out the problem and they want to replace the under dash fuse box and control unit. They would not guarantee that my car would run after putting in new parts. Question. Any ideas as to what might be happening and do you know of any expert repair techs in the las vegas area that could help me get my car back on the road.

Sorry to hear this, I would stay away from that acura dealer, whatever they telling you is not very promising and seems expensive. Let's look at some simple fix.
1. At the bottom of clutch there is a little black rubber if that is gone or fall off your car won't start
2. How are the spark plugs, you getting fuel, check the fuel pump and the relay
3. How does the battery and terminal looks?
4. Look also at the ignition switch.

Those are some obvious stuff I look first
good luck

yeah replace a fuse box seems like they are morons

ignition switch 20+ years old, they fail about every 50K miles

1. See if the fuel pump is priming when you go key on and open the fuel line to make sure you have fuel pressure.
2. If you do have pressure get a hold of a noid light and disconnect one of the fuel injectors and put it in place of the injector. Crank the motor over and get someone to see if it flashes as you crank the motor. If you have no fuel pump
priming or pressure check your fuses, wiring and power supply at the fuel pump.
3.If the noid light flashes and the pump and fuel pressure checked out fine you will most likely have an ignition related fault, still do not cancel other options out. If the noid light does not flash and the pump and fuel pressure are good check for a broken T- Belt ( remove the oil cap and get someone to crank the engine and see if the intake cam spins through the hole the oil cap threads into), check your power/ground/signal lines in the Cam/Crank/TDC sensor.
-Chances are it will most likely be something simple. Cars only need fuel, spark, air/compression to run see which one you are missing-

Download the NSX manual online

Resolder the ignition switch and main relay if you have not done so already

If you not changed anything on the car after 22 1/2 years. I would add to the list:
Fuel pump. Loosen the fuel bleed screw and check to see you have fuel
Ignitor that sits on top of the manifold

yeah they seem to join ask question then never log back in to see the answer, LOL they have it towed to teh dealership get robbed then in a fury
log back in see the answer and kick them selves in the ass for being impatient, then they figure out that NSXPRIME is the best site in the world.
and then they are regular posters then their life seems better. then they start venting about daily grind, then start making polls they none of us vote for,
then group buys, then..... LOL
poor guy I feel abd for him now I wanna know what happened did he ever get his car running again, did he sell it in a rage for a great price?

I love playing " what IF " LOL
