I have seen plenty of posts about clutch replacement. But I cant find much from the person that actually DID the work.
I have done a LOT of car stuff over a lot of years and thought it was not going to be a big deal to do the NSX clutch myself.
So--- It came out of the car, no sweat... I could plainly see the discs were worn out......
THEN CAME the shock of the new clutch price........... WOW! I dont pay that for the big clutch in my pro-comp race car..
So I showed the clutch to the Machine Shop I use and we decided to build it in house..... BUT had no specs to use, so it was by-guess-and-by-golly...
Back in the car it no longer slips -- at ALL!! But it will not fully release... I can start it in gear and hold the brake... Then let 'er out and away we go..
I am getting a good throw on the slave cylinder, but this thing aint right.
I pulled it apart and can see it all LOOKS OK, but we know it just aint wurkin this way.. The center plate does not move freely on the pins.. Looks like it is getting even contact on all sides..
I went ahead and took some material off both discs thinking maybe I over estimated the total thickness... Then put it back in for a second test.
NOPE--- Now I can tell it had noting to do with the thickness of the disc.
So----- Anyone have any specs on the clutch? Anyone have their clutch rebuilt and it worked? Who Did the rebuild?
Sure would like some help on this... Would rather be driving it than looking at it up on the rack.
