I'm looking into purchasing 17" fronts and 18" rears for my 92. Tire rack has the rims I'm looking at (SSR GT1's) in 17x7.5 or 17x8 for the front and 18x9 for the rear. My question is what will look the best in the front and what tire sizes should I use.

The most common tire sizes used on NSXs with 17"/18" wheels are 215/40-17 front, and either 255/35-18 rear or 265/35-18 rear.

Depends on the tire. Go to the Tire Rack website, find the make and model of tire you're considering, click on it, then click on "specs" and there should be a spec sheet that shows the allowable rim widths for each available size.

I have used the following set ups on my NSX's

Work Wheel's
17x8 F with 225 35 17 SO2 (no longer made)
18x10 R with 285 30 18 S02

SSR Integral's
17x8 F with 215 40 17 SO3
18x9 R with 275 35 18 SO3

Current on my 2002 silver NSX SSR Competitons
18x8 F with 225 25 18 SO3
18x9 R with 285 30 18 S03

I like the 17x8 18x9or10 combo the best but no one has the 225 35 18 size that also makes the 285 30 18 size. I do not like the 35 or 40's on rear with width more than 265 because it is to tall a side wall. The 215 40 17 has a bit taller side wall than the 285 30 18, altough the math says it should not.
Total tire hight is important to, so keep it in mind when you decide.

I just bought a set of 17/18 SSR Competition wheels from Tire Rack with 215/40-17 front and 255/35-18 rear. Looks great on my 92, but the weather is not cooperating here for much driving time. When you get your wheels make sure all the hardware is there, my front wheels did not have the required hub ring and I was in such a hurry to get them on I almost didn't notice.
