I've seen a lot of kit cars posted on this website. And they all look like, to put it nicely, crap. But there's a company that sold $100,000 Lamborghini turnkey replicas powered by corvette engines and the fit and finish of theses cars were just amazing. It puts all other replica Lamborghinis to shame. However, the company went out of business last year. When you think about it, who would pay $100,000 for a fake Lamborghini when they could buy and build a very well equipped nsx for a lot cheaper. Well, just for fun, here’s the website and take a look at the pics.

Because Lambo's are at whole different level to the NSX.

I had one that was supposed to be built by the best in the USA, what a piece of junk. Inside and out it was awesome, but rode like a tank tied to a tree, no horn, spare,no 12 volt outlet, light wiring done with speaker wire, overheat at high speeds, etc and I paid 50K.Broke even but what a mistake!

The builder is here in Austin, TX. The car looks very impressive in person (some pictures I took are below) and it's obvious that a lot of work and attention to detail went into it.

If someone has $100k to blow on a Lambo kit car, I would think they would have (or should have) enough to buy the actual thing. I know there is a huge price difference between the real thing and this $100k kit, but still....

The guy I bought my car from has a real Lambo roadster and three F cars, he bought the replica because he could actualy drive it and it wasn't always in the shop like his concours condition 2 K mile 98 roadster, but I'll take my NSX anyday!

That's just stupid...might as well save a little bit more and buy a real used early Diablo.

or Ferrari F355, Testarossa, Porsche 911 Turbo, etc...

In a legal sense, I never understood how a kit car can be legal?

A fake Rolex is illegal...

why is a kit car legal?

Is it because they actually never say the actual brand (i.e. Lamborghini) anywhere on the car?

That's not true Doc, It says lamborghini all over the car. Lambo does't go after the kit builders ,but Ferrari is constantly hunting them down and putting the out of business.

ok, I have never seen a Lambo myself, only once at those car show you won't be able to come near within 5 ft. of the car. but from what I read (magazines, which had bashing our beloved underpowered nsx. ;) ), the Lambo's workmanship were never good until Audi/VW took over...

This $100k Lambo makes whole lot of sense for someone just care about it looks like a Lambo.

it makes sense to me if someone had 100K to spend and wanted a kit car vs. the real thing. The price would be a bit cheaper for a kit and the maintenance would be nothing compared to the real thing.

i wouldnt buy one, but when it costs 3500.00 to replace a broken radiator hose on a real one the idea starts to sound more affordable and smart by the minute. After all, I know here in Omaha, NE 98.9% of people wouldnt know the difference because no one has seen a real one up close.

You can have all the "looks" you want from other people for 1/3rd the cost. But i rather have a NSX.

I went to a cruise here once where there was a mr2 with a lambo kit .
looks believeable from the front and thats bout it but damn it was low.
