I just got a baseline run in my car b4 boost. I ran a 13.43 1/4, 2.01 60ft  mods in my sig below. What's everyone else running?

If you start to run 1/4 miles more than once try it with stock wheels or lighter and compare times to your blingy 18/19's:wink:

o i don't really care about 1/4 at all i just wanted a base number. what are people running with stock wheels? mine aren't too much heavier than stock but they are a little heavier. I'm wondering how you'd get any traction at all with stock 215s...?

The relative modest torque and midengine design mitigate wheel spin.My best times with my car when it had a 3.0l motor stock gearing ,oem wheels and : ihe,was 13.6,with my blingy 17/18 blitzes I could not do any better than 13.8.

wow... pretty drastic difference. Im looking forward to finishing my S/c install. hopefully ill be in the mid 12's.

When my friend's and i run are cars , we run them with what we drive on the street . Regular tire pressure , w/ passenger, subs and stuff like that and try to make it fast with mods. After you are a little happier you can put lighter wheels, lower tire pressure , no passenger . and take out some junk . then your time will drop.

I know ppl that are running about 12.89 at 110 i think with lower tire pressure light wheels none stock. I/E/H .but its at around 62 to 75 degrees.

You'll definitely be in the 12's if you can launch the car right. I had a best of 12.6 @ 115mph with a 2.0 60ft. My best times and trap speeds were with the OEM 16/17 wheels. Happy boosting!

Superb 60ft time, nice driving!

What is your 1/8mile time if you don't mind sharing? The wheel/tire combo you are running probably helped your launch off the line but hurt the trap speed. The Privat Zwanzig wheels are great looking, but a bit on the heavier side, front approximately 25lbs, rear is ~28lbs. Combined with tires, my estimate is approximately 50~60lbs totoal over stock in rotating mass.

The stock NSX-R's maximum potential with professional driver running his all time best try is 12.57sec, All other tests shown 12.7~13flat, the hp required to make this time is approximately 279rwhp/2800lbs.

If you add 100rwhp additional HP and keep the weight below 3000lbs. You should have no problem making low~mid 12s. Absolute best time possible theoretically for 343rwhp/3000lbs is 12sec flat. 352rwhp/3000lbs is theoretically good for 11.9sec at absolute best possible scenario with Ryan Woon behind the wheel launching off rev limiter with slicks if the car doesn't break.

Ryan,
115mph is pure power, is your NSX full weight?

My calculation with your trap speed and a estimated 3110lbs=368rwhp

trap was 104.95
1/8 was 8.601

For the most part. I haven't done any weight reduction except for the weight savings from some of my bolt-ons. There was a scale at the track, however, I wasn't able to weigh my car. The next time I go I will be sure to hop on the scale.

Thats a hell of a trap speed. 104mph in the 8th?

I ran a 8.71 at 86mph bone stock 92 with light weight reduction and exedy clutch

no no no! hahahaha some one asked for trap which was 104 in the 1/4 then somone else asked for my 1/8th

Haha oh ok. I was like damn a 104 should be more like a 7.0 8th mile lol:biggrin:

I may go to the track to get an idea and make a run or two. What do you guys launch at (RPM) and how are you shifting? I really don't want to hurt my car. I won't speedshift, but not sure what to launch at with the CTSC. Already, if I am on the street anytime in first gear I break loose... I feather the throttle... I think some were dropping the clutch at 4500 or so, I may wind up in a pile of tire smoke if I did that. My friend clicks off low 12's in his supercharged mustang every week at the track and he said my car felt faster than his. So I am curious.

Fantastic time. For a simple comparison, an NA2 NSX-R with professional driver run approximately 8.3~8.6sec. I would predict you can pull 1.7sec 60ft, 7.6~8sec 1/8mile with added power, since you already have experience at the strip, the experience really play a major factor.

If you have never done it before, 1st time at the strip is always tough, don't even worry or think about time. It will be at least .25~1sec slower than what you are truely capable of, nobody get best time in the first try. The time will greatly improve once you find what works for you with several passes under your belt.

It is very hard to launch at strip, I find it far more difficult than on the street, due to slippery surface with all the rubber, debries, and water, our street tires not designed for the strip.

I like launching at 3000rpm, never clutch dump, just quick smooth engagement, shift at 8150rpm. Let the low end power pull you out of the hole. Play it safe rather than hit or miss, get a solid time down then increase launching rpm.

12.52 @ 117 is my current best. The S2000 will come out to play this Sunday. Import Survival Series at Englishtown. I planned to run the NSX but she's hanging out with Larry Bastanza:frown:

I went to the track today with my turbo NSX. 1st time with this setup. My best was 12.0492 @ 130.83. I was really pumped because that is on 18/19 wheels, street tires and a stock clutch so my highest boost level was 8.6psi.
That mph should be good for a lot faster than 12's.

 yeah... like high 10's!

To put things in perspective. At 130.83mph, that is faster than Ford GT or C6 Z06. Really....really...fast.

Trap speed is very near Carrera GT, Enzo level. They both trap low 130s

Here is the slip. The other car was an S2000 with the same turbo I have, built by the same people that built my kit. He was on drag tires. My reaction time was 3 tenths of a second slower than him and he launched really hard with the drag tires while I was spinning. Because of the reaction time, I hadn't caught him by the 1/8th mile. As you can see, I was going about 10mph faster than him when I passed. It was incredible! I have to give it to the s2000 though. That little 4 cyl. is putting out some crazy power.

nice run! these cars really seem to love the boost  do you happen to know that track's elevation?

I am assuming your theory on absolute best time at 352rwhp/3000lbs is NSX specific. I went 11.7 in my (317rwhp/3095lb) RX7 several times...and in the high 11's at least 30 times...then I had to up the power...

I will be picking up my 2nd NSX in a few weeks...
