I got a chance to run my car last night after getting my clutch installed. It wasn't bad, but I sure have room to improve my ET's:)

Best Run...Nobody would get in line with me?

60'......1.957
330.....5.481
1/8......8.369
MPH.....85.77
1/4......12.929
MPH.....111.91

Worst Run...NSX Left Lane...EVO Right Lane

60'........2.246..........1.926
330.......5.846..........5.737
1/8........8.787..........8.941
MPH.......84.73..........76.49
1/4........13.392........13.995
MPH.......110.91........97.83

EVOLADY jumped me out of the hole, but I finished strong. This was our first run of the night. It was my worst and her best if anyone is wondering :D

...Nice runs! That MPH seems pretty *stout* to me ;) Lemme get this straight, your basically at I/H/E + 4.40 gear in a 97' 6-speed and your trapping at nearly 112MPH ?

...these type of runs give great refrence to what a 310-320RWHP N/A stroker kit could do....makes me even more inclined to go with a killer N/A stroker package (like FX's 3.3L) which "should" be putting down ~40RWHP more than your set-up with the same mods....making it close to a 115MPH trap speed car, N/A! That would be excellent for a road course warrior. :D

Those are great times! 112 MPH is very fast for a NA NSX. My friend with a 6lbs CTSC ran 110! Car and Driver tested Comptechs own car and only got 117 in their fastest run.

Hello All!

Thanks for all the positive comments guys:-) I plan to go run one more time this year when it cools off and the humidity drops. I think with some tire preasure adjustments in the rear and more "agressive" shifting I can hit 112-113mph and maybe get another 3/10's off my ET's.

I also have noticed the trap speeds on most of the low boost SC's and wonder what I would be doing if I added F/I. My cars seems to run VERY strong now for a N/A NSX :D I do like what NSXTASY_MD said... "excellent road course warrior" I'm getting close to that now if I haven't already!

I think that's very possible I wouldn't look to see the MPH get higher so much, but your et's to come down some....unless you weren't shifting like a mofo....and experiment with full throttle shifts...like i told you 400 to 500 rpm if your a quick shifter....and since you have a rev limiter you dont have to worry about shooting it to the moon! :p

I always drive the cars before a tranny job as part of the diagnosis part of the job. When I drove John's car, I noticed that it was a very strong N/A car to start off with before putting the gear in. I'm not terribly suprised by his times. Way to go dude, BTW, wheres my logo?! My uniforms will be here in a couple days!!!

i hear that shifting at 7100-7300 is the best cause of thats when its hp reaches the highest point then drops..but does it really matter?

I think shifting that early would result in slower times and trap speeds. Shifting at 7100-7300 would drop you out of VTEC for the next gear and you loose more HP that way. Has anyone tried shifting at lower RPM's with good results?

This is a common misconception. To maximize acceleration, you want maximize torque at the wheels. The engine's torque curve and transmission gearing will determine the ideal gear for a given speed. With the NSX, shifting at redline will yield quicker acceleration.

If you want to prove it to yourself, read this horsepower vs. torque article, then plug-in the NSX's torque numbers and gear ratios.

Great info in that article!

Thanks :D
