02+ trunk lip spoiler

I'm mounting an 02+trunk lip spoiler(actually the bodyshop is) on my car and this bracket looks like it will have to come off any body know why the bracket is there? Can it come off?

The OEM application is bolted to the trunk latch assemby through a hole in the trunk (there are like a bunch of other holes for clips as well.)

I made the same mistake of buying an OEM lip spoiler. The bracket is being cut off of mine for installation.

So i should have bought a different one. I think dali sells one, of course i thought the OEM was better.

Hasn't been mounted yet as my car hasn't been completed yet, but yes, the bracket will be cut off to mount.

fwiw, I will have replicas of these in about a month, sans metal bracket, ready for paint and double sided tape. They're currently being produced from a factory trunk lip, a handful in carbon, and 15 in fiberglass.

good thing some one else other than dali is coming out with replicas. i wanted to buy a carbon fiber one so bad but never did it because i didnt want to get screwed by dali like everyone else has. I didnt want to have an incomplete shipment with only screws and a missing spoiler. keep up the good work scorp
