Hi,
Is there any reason that any of you know that would cause the same o2 sensor (engine code 61) to fail within 6 months?

Had exact same issue a while ago and had the sensor indicated changed to a new one and now failed again.

Car recently passed through "shaken" here which is the road worthiness no emissions issues etc so wondering if there is a reason more than bad luck?
Cheers,
Kye

What are those?

O2 sensors can fail randomly but it is rare, they usually degrade with time as carbon builds up on the sensor. This can be excellerated by the AFR and type of fuel you use. Tune the car rich and the O2 will fail much faster than if it is lean. Run leaded fuel and you will kill it in no time.

If this is a JDM NSX I am not sure what a code 61 means as our OBDII system would produce a 4 digit code, can you check the service manual and let us know exactly what the Honda description is for a Code 61?

Car is an Acura.

Kye,

Recheck, I think you mean a 41;). ODBI CEL light would blink a 41 for front 02 sensor heater failure.
