I would like to upgrade the HID bulb to 9000K ones. Will it burn the plastic shell and what brand would be suitable with the OEM HID ballast? BTW my S2000 friend has 9000K HID installed on his car which has not cause any problem...yet.

The K refers to the Kelvin temperature of the bulb which in English means its color. Pure white is about 4300K. 9000K will be a very bluish tint. There is no heat increase as you increase Kelvin temps but you will have less usable light output not to mention a very ricey looking car.

When changing HID bulbs to a higher Kelvin " 9000K " there is no problem. the melting of the plastic shell rumor is something that happens with High Wattage HID look Halogen bulbs.
Unless you are trying to get as close to a blacklight as possible, please do not upgrade to a 9000K bulb. I had 6000K on my mr2 Spyder retrofit, and they were too blue IMO.
