I've done water tunnel drag tests to validate the CFD codes I used to write in the past.

That's a design I've tested before. There's a bunch of other weird looking ones too. There's a bunch of patents for blunt bodies trying to lower drag, increase drag, and specific applications for a particular design :wink:
