Fuel smell in cabin windows down

Idled the car while stationary, and with my sniffer in between the EVAC and fuel filler hose, I smell slight whiffs. I did the FP test, and she passed with flying colors. Once turned off, pressure dropped about 1 pound over the course of a minute. Per the gauge, every thing on that end seemed...

Fuel smell in cabin windows down

Thank you gents for the input. It's a 91 with 116k miles. You are right, if injectors are coming out then the fuel filter will get replaced. If the tank is coming out, then a new pump will be going in. I'll get a loaner FP tester and see what it says. I appreciate everyone's input.

Fuel smell in cabin windows down

I am OBD 1. Thanks Old Guy, this was exactly what I was looking for. I'll start with the EVAC check and then the FP check. Silly question, how quick is "fairly quick"? If both of these test good, would you then suspect the filler hose? This will be a slow process. She isn't my daily. I'm...

Fuel smell in cabin windows down

Hello all, I'm trying to track down the cause of a unavoidable fuel smell I get driving down the freeway with the passenger window partially open. No recent work on the car to speak of, windows up = no smell. With the car parked and off I smell a little of it, mostly in the area of the fuel...

    Suspension H&R lowering springs, part number 50146 - $75

These are used and very serviceable H&R lowering springs, with about a 1.25-1.5 inch drop. Local pick up preferred, but I can provide shipping cost once I have your location. I'm guessing around $50 to ship?

How hard is it to install outer tie rod end

I know this thread is ancient, but I just replaced inner and outer tie rods and wanted to add some tips that may help others. The pickle fork did not get my tie rod out. I ended up using a universal tie rod puller (image that!), but it ended up pushing out the bearing out of the bottom still...

    92 NSX with error code 44 - Bad O2?

I looked, but didn't see any guide for additional info re: the t belt. I'm surprised I didn't find a suggested part number list for replacement or a list of suggestions in the how to?

When I log in on the upper right of the screen, it says Thank you for logging in, You'll be redirected... When I am redirected, I'm not logged in. And it repeats. Sometimes, I'm sent to the log in page with the big square in the middle and I sign in. And then redirected to the big square in...

    Suspension stock springs

I'm on the hunt for stock suspension springs. CL and ebay proved to be not helpful. I currently have aftermarket lowering springs of unknown origin, but they are undesirable. If you have or know where to find these, I'd love to hear about it. Thanks in advance.

    92 NSX with error code 44 - Bad O2?

Salt in the wound. SALT IN THE WOUND!!! The timing belt needs to be done too, and that's a job I'm not looking forward to. And the manual steering rack needs to be addressed, I have an email out to D1_guy for that as he seems to be the resident expert. The AC needs to get fixed, the chromed...

    92 NSX with error code 44 - Bad O2?

I hesitate to say it, but I think this is solved for now. The new Denso o2 (pn 234-4065) went in, and after 30 minutes of decent driving I have no CEL. This o2 did not have the rubber grommets around the wire that clip in under the cam box, but I made some from electrical tape. The trick for...

    92 NSX with error code 44 - Bad O2?

Old Guy, I think your plan is pretty spot on. Fuel Pressure test showed 40 at idle with vacuum connected, 48 without vacuum. If I play with the throttle a bit, it goes to 42ish. This seems to be in range, so I'm NOT going to focus on the FPR or the pump for right now. I'm still going to...

    92 NSX with error code 44 - Bad O2?

So it sounds like my list of suspects is as follows: o2 sensors, dirty injectors, fuel pump. I'm going to add fuel filter and FPR to that list too. Is the fuel pump wiring reason for concern? I have a 4G63T that are notorious for failing wiring and losing volts to the fuel pump. My plan is...

    92 NSX with error code 44 - Bad O2?

I'm trying to resurrect bad father's NSX and after 20ish minutes of driving I get a CEL. I jumped the connector, and it flashes 44, Rear Fuel Supply System. I replaced all the coils with aftermarket, but it still shows up, again after 20 minutes. The car recently passed smog (the light goes...
