Absolutely not. You already have the "torque reactive" diff or whatever Honda calls the 95+ non-R diff. The "Type R" differential is just a 91-94 diff with more preload on the clutch pack and is in no way worth $3000.
The "Type R" upgrade is only worth it if you've already got the trans taken...
Correct, if you connect the front ABS sensors directly to the modulator harness, you can use those wires going through the firewall for the rear sensors or other signals. Makes for a very clean and easy installation.
There's enough ABS wiring already in the car that there's no reason to run any new wires through the firewall. I made my own harness because of this, unfortunately almost all the off-the-shelf options are both poorly made and poorly thought out.
Was bringing those signals out a matter of just connecting the correct pin on the connector? Or did it require internal modification of the ABS module?
Good price for an ITB setup, especially if the linkage is functional. If any DIYers want to take the plunge these can be tuned with a chipped 91-94 ECU.
And yeah you need to include a handwritten note with your username/date.
Tiny update: Sun Visors
After having a brand new set of sun visors split within a year or two, I decided that OEM sun visors were not for me. And frankly the OEM options aren't all that nice to begin with, at least not nice enough for an NSX. My original plan was to have visors redone in...
Not really related to this engine build but I thought it was interesting seeing the S62 crankshaft from my M5 next to the comparatively tiny C30 crank. The C30 does use larger rod journals though, and has far fewer rod bearing issues than the BMW and makes more HP/L.
The late year Japanese manuals list 5w40 as an approved fill. It's what I've been using for the last 20k miles or so.

The coated ACL race bearings (extra clearance) for a VG30 arrived today, and they are nearly a perfect match except for the tang location.
Thickness: measured at various points around the bearing shell, these are a Honda yellow or green bearing.
Width: The VG bearings measure 17.04mm and the...
@King Da Ka Did you miss the part where I said "At the end of the day they are still good cars and the "drawbacks" are extremely minor."
Drawbacks is in quotes.
Implying that they aren't actually drawbacks and that it was just my preference.
I'm sorry my post offended you so much.
The guy said that forged pistons can operate at higher sustained temps than cast so can get away with less direct oil spray. All of the aftermarket rods I've seen do away with the oil hole, on the C30 and various other 90s Honda engines, and I've never heard of any issues coming from it both in...
They are heavier than the 91-94 due to the targa and they don't have the 3.2 motor to help offset the difference. 6 speed is nice, but I wouldn't value that at more than maybe $5-7k over an otherwise equal 5 speed equipped model. The 95+ cars also do not have tunable ECUs like 91-94 (which won't...
Are you talking about buying the NSX in addition to your R8? Or trading for it? If buying then just drive it and see, but I would look for a 91-94 or a 97+.
If I were you, I would absolutely not trade a low miles V10 R8 for a high mileage 95 NSX. I'd love to have both though.
