    2002 NSX on Bring A Trai.er

I don't know if this belongs on the classified page or not, but my beautiful 2002 Silverstone NSX is on BaT. The bidding ends on Wednesday. If you are interested, go to...

What can I expect when I’m ready to buy an Acura NSX?

Light and nimble? You bet! Nothing will put a smile on your face like driving a twisty back road in an NSX. You will get attention wherever you go like no other car. If I don't get a thumbs up from another driver every time I drive it, I think somethings wrong. I had a pedestrian jump out...

    Car shipping

Intercity Lines is fantastic! They're the most professional people. They ship for Jay Leno and Wayne Carini. They do a lot of shipping to Pebble Beach, etc. They all want a full truck and you can't blame them. But the Intercity kept in touch with me almost every day as they delivered my car...

Who is the oldest NSX owner that still drives their car regularly?

OK... OK. I'm in. I turn 73 on Wednesday. I'm on my second NSX. First one destroyed 4 years ago by a DWI moron. Driving an NSX NEVER gets old, even if I do. Still hoping to do another track tack to show you young wiper-snappers how it's done.

    C8 finally unveiled!!!

I think GM has hit a home run with the C8. I, too, would like a MT option, though.

    Rough Idle

In the end, I took her to the local Certified NSX Mechanic and he assured me that, that although the vibration is perhaps slightly more than my previous NSX, the car is quite normal. There is a intrinsic secondary imbalance in a 90 degree V6 and they believe that is what I am feeling. We...

    OBDII App

    Great! Thank you.

    Rough Idle

Wow! You are the best! That is exactly what I wanted to know. I have access to short term and long term % fuel trim for both banks. It seams that the short and long term trim are going mostly positive and seldom negative. That surprises me. I also have access to the O2 sensor voltages. I...

    Rough Idle

The previous owner (I think you know him) drove the car after the PPI and didn't notice the problem (I believe him). The car has not been worked on since the PPI. I noticed the problem the day the car arrived. So, either the problem is so subtle as to not be noticed by PO, or the car broke in...

I got an OBD Fusion scanner app and it does show fuel trim percentage. The percentages (in the garage) run from about -1% to about +15%. I don't know how to tell if that is normal or not. One bank seem about 2 or 3 percent higher than the other. When the car is fully warmed up the roughness...

    Yup. That's my dilemma. Gary

I am aware that the stethoscope is a very incomplete test but it was all I had. I agree with what you are saying, and am looking to get a better OBDII App. so I can check things like fuel trim. Can you recommend a good one for an iPad? My old one isn't very complete. Thanks, Gary

    OBDII App

Can anyone recommend a good OBDII app for my iPhone? I have 2 OBDII readers, but the Bluetooth reader fails to connect, so I need one to work with my WiFi reader. Free would be nice, but willing to pay for a good app. Gary

So, I've checked the plugs, coils, O2 sensors and for stored codes. The fuel injectors sound the same with a stethoscope. The engine mounts look fine. Has anyone got any other ideas on what I can check? Thanks, Gary

    Rough Idle

Old Guy I've only had the car for about a month and part of that time it was in a shop for unrelated work. I've probably driven the car for a total of 100 miles. The previous owner said he never noticed such a problem. The timing belt was replaced about 2 years ago, but again if you've...

    Rough Idle

Reran the test with the Primary O2 sensors disconnected and the engine up to temperature. The engine still seemed rough to me. It's not rough enough to shake all the bolts loose, but doesn't seem right. How bad would the engine run if the timing belt were off one tooth? Gary

    Rough Idle

Oops! Not up to temperature. Will repeat the test. Gary

    Rough Idle

Well, today is O2 sensor day. Can I assume the Primary O2 sensors are the ones stuck in the exhaust manifold and the secondaries are stuck in the cats? Gary

    Rough Idle

Great idea, Asylum! I will try that. Monday morning follow up. I pulled the coils and plugs. They all look brand new, like they just came out of the box. There is no sign of corrosion anywhere. I, also, checked the primary resistance on all the coils and all were in spec. Dead end...

You guys are all amazing! I recognize most of you from my previous days on Prime (4 years ago)l You've been such an incredible help (as usual). I plan to pull the coils on Monday and will keep you all up to date on my progress. I, also, am a big fan of dielectric grease and will be using it...

    Rough Idle

So will a significant misfire as a result of a corroded / failed coil throw an OBDII code? I would have thought so. Gary

    Rough Idle

OK. I thought there was a special part number for the set. Thanks, Gary

    Rough Idle

Wow! What a mess! I had a PPI done a couple of weeks ago where he did a compression check. Obviously, he had to pull the coils to do that. If they were really bad, I would have thought he would have seen / said something. Wouldn't a misfire like that show up on the OBDII. I am showing no...
