The ext. worked out great. Plugs matched OEM plugs. Making it nice. Re-routed with the extra length. Solving the problem. ECU was fine. Just had to disconnect the batt to re-set things. Back to 100%...
Found a extension on ebay. "02 OXYGEN SENSOR EXTENSION HARNESS 4 WIRE CABLE KIT FOR HONDA"
Said to fit the NSX. Looks like problem solved.... Not worried about having an orig looking set up. 15 years
and I never noticed how poorly it was mounted. Will add a clamp to prevent from happening...
Kind of an odd issue... Anyone know where to purchase this male & female connector?
Never noticed it wasn't secured very well (past 15 yrs) & it contacted the cat & fried.
Noticed it wasn't running quite right today. Cruised on home and noticed the smoke,,,,
And am pretty sure this is why it...
Not a full test to check if its opening. Once it gets the signal to open, it stays open through the test.
As I understand it, its like a cold start feature in the ecu. But am no expert..........
Ronnie at Irvine auto repair can fill you in. This had even Ramon scratching his head. (yrs ago)
(The...
Yes, and thats the problem..... It was not designed to open when the testers want it to open.
Any temp, any rpm range.
It can be seen on the screen by the tester. Changes the numbers dramatically.
Your probably right. I may have been confused by the guys brand new evap machine, and high price to have it used on my car.
He mentioned it was a new test? That I might not have had before? But am not sure.......
No complaints though. Made it in one trip. Yrs ago I used to have to make several...
taqman15 / I know its been a year.......... I did the same thing. Replaced the EGR valve but believe it was unnecessary.
It seems it only gets the signal to open when everything is very hot. Like running the car for 40 minutes and not letting it cool down at all prior to the test.
Wish I had a...
Keeping the old thread alive. Easy pass when the EGR valve is open.
Hard part? Running the test hot enough, at low rpm's and getting it to open.
Also the new fuel tank EVAP test is a real joy. $45.00 to see if my tank leaks, Nuts.
Passed the smog ck. Only $134.95 ck=81.70, Cert = $8.25, Evap...
You know what? Just found an old email from the seller, but the pics wont load.
"Re: Pics of all four rims / Try this again the car is #42 "
Looks like my wheels may have been off the elusive #42 .
Another car carrier incident. The above car was dropped on #42 NSX below.
At least that what I...
Acura is a symbol of sluggish overweight soccer moms cars now. They changed over the years. Admit it or not.
That hurt NSX sales more than anything IMHO.
Look at my max in July and yours in Jan. Houston, we have a problem.
695 / 549........ 717 / 507
Or maybe I just don't understand it and someone can explain it to me.
How and why it keeps changing.
Thanks
Still have the set of wheels on my 94 from number whatever that was crushed by the upper car on a car carrier yrs ago.
Close as I ever got to owning one. LOL LOL The ones I did see for sale over the years all seem to have had questionable histories.
This thread is almost 10 yrs old. Time...
Its my understanding its not a bad EGR valve, but rather when it gets its signal to open. Lower RPM's? Not so much...
Higher RPM's, no problem. It may have been designed this way for cold starts / low rpm use. Its like night and day watching the screen while its on the dyno. But it might just be...
This might make a good sticky for 91-94's.
After 12 yrs of ownership in Ca. ....... Finally figured it out. (Ronnie at Irvine auto repair actually)
Highly recommended if you live in the area you get your NSX smog there. 91-94 specifically.
My cars issue was a lazy EGR valve. And its by...
