    Differences between OEM 16/17 wheels

Thanks guys. I'm wondering if Honda changed the alloy composition in 97 to allow the CNC machining offered from then on. If not, I suppose any 94-96 wheel could be turned into a 97-01 wheel? I realize very few people could know for sure, the NSX gods surely...

    Differences between OEM 16/17 wheels

Anybody knows whether the OEM 16/17 wheels were identical over the years 94-01, aside from paint/finish, in terms of material and shape?

    OEM 16/17 refinish

Upon further inspection only one of the wheels shows about 1-2mm less aluminum thickness at the hub than other 3. I also noticed that most clear is off on front wheels and I can literally peel off entire sections. I'll try some manual labor before putting these through a machine, but if nothing...

    OEM 16/17 refinish

Yes that's what I thought. So far I spoke to one wheel refinisher over the phone, and met with another with one of the wheels for reference, and both say that the only way to strip the remaining clear coat is to put the wheel through a CNC machine. What's more, the guy who inspected the one...

    OEM 16/17 refinish

I recently purchased a nice set of 97-01 wheels in the machined finish. While they are in good shape with no damage, the clear coat is peeling off at some places. Is it possible to have those refurbished without losing the machined finish? I see that some sophisticated methods put the wheels...

    Potential clutch issue

Hi primers! My 92,000 mile 1991 has potential clutch issues. I've owned the car for over 2 years now and noticed very early on that clutch pickup was very harsh and crude, not at all progressive as I would expect after driving other NSX cars. I asked two trained technicians to drive the car and...

    7,800rpm rev limit?

The car has been in my possession for less than a year, I can't see any evidence of the cluster ever being disassembled. Fuel cut at 7,800rpm is consistent, even after (fairly) long drives, in any case I never use revs until 10-15 minutes of driving. My car is now in storage but I do have...

    7,800rpm rev limit?

Now THAT'S interesting! I thought the AT fuel cut was closer to 7,000rpm. Would an AT ECU even work in a MT car?

    7,800rpm rev limit?

My car has the manual transmission and while I'm not sure I understand the distinction between hard and soft cut, I can only say it is the rev limiter that kicks in with fast paced pulses of power interruption preventing the RPMs from going any higher. I only assume this is a hard cut, as the...

    7,800rpm rev limit?

I have put around 1000 miles on my 91 NSX since I bought it earlier this year and I noticed that the rev limiter kicks in systematically at 7,800rpm (could be 7,900 but surely never touches 8,000). The engine speed always seemed more than fast enough to my ears so I never bothered to enquire, I...

    Tires for OEM 16/17" wheels?

Seeking updated tips on tires for my newly found OEM 16/17" wheels. Being a bit of a purist, I was upset to find out the correct RE010 tires were no longer available. The car will not be used on the track. It is my occasional weekend driver though it gets used as it's intended wherever roads...

Why won't my 91 circulate the A/C freon?

Resurecting an old thread, I'm having similar issues but maybe not exactly the same. My mechanic emptied the system of refrigerent and when he tried to fill the system, the compressor was showing no negative pressure. We can hear it running, but it's not pulling anything... replace compressor...

    Honda coolant: green or blue?

Doing a coolant flush on my 91 as preventative maintenance. Mechanic says the original green stuff would be safer but Honda dealer doesn't carry it anymore; didn't check with Acura yet. What's the consensus on this? I flushed coolant on my Honda VFR800 last year and found the Honda green...

    OEM exhaust; tips?

That's what I feared. To clarify, an OEM 97-01 headers/cats/muffler would bolt on with different o2 sensors/wires? I would regard this as the best possible upgrade. I understand mix/match won't... match. I would love to see the different muffler/cats setups per year. What about aftermarket...

    OEM exhaust; tips?

Great! This means I can stay all OEM with a factory 95-01 muffler! Sweet! I'll be on the lookout for one. Will it bolt on to the OEM 1991 headers/cats? Even better would be a 97-01 full headers/cats/muffler setup but step-by-step may be the only realistic option for now. Thanks guys.
