The main issue I see with this type of install, is the amount of volume (hose diameter) is so small, (OEM spec), its insufficient at venting the pressure at high boost levels / high rpm for extended periods of time.
At minimum, the line diameter should be 3/4" (#10 AN)

The cover is thick leather. Light parts & tools on it don't hurt or harm the vehicle in any way. Heavy parts go on the bench, and yes, we have several benches. Keeps small parts from getting lost.
So I've been driving the car all week to duplicate the overheating I was seeing. Not once in 7 days has it moved past "normal" regardless of how I've driven it. Stop/go traffic, pushing it on the highway, nothing.
Seems to have been a fluke? Haha.
