Always fun to watch how long it takes cars to reach their original sticker price.
And see the shock many have when it occurs.
Am old enough and fortunate enough to have seen it on several cool cars.
Mustangs, Mid year vettes, etc. etc. This one is taking a bit longer than those.
Fun to watch...
Its odd the clear coat is peeling on your 02. We have an 05 Lexus that a hit and run driver hit when 6 months old. We had the repaired area reworked last month as the clear coat was peeling after 10 yrs of being parked out side. The factory paint & clear coat is stil like new. But the repaired...
Its all perspective. I sold a Corvette 10 yrs ago and bought my NSX and a new 05 RX350 with the cash.
And had a little left over.
And I really don't know what NSX's actually sold for when new. 91's were 60k, 05's about 90k.
Also did anyone actually pay 60k for a 91? I recall silly markups for...
Here is one opinion. (Link) I was worried 11 yrs ago when news leaked they were going to be discontinued & bought mine when new ones were still in show room floors. And was shocked a few short yrs ago when early NSX prices dropped (for some unknown reason) below E30 M3 prices?
Then there is...
I don't see what the big deal is. So prices have creped up to 1/2 their orig. selling price.
Maybe I have just owned too many classic cars and am getting old.
I just don't see this as all that shocking........
Did anyone actually think they would depreciate forever?
Its kind of a new thing for Japanese cars. A few Classic cars from Japan are selling for over their original price, but not many.
Datsun comes to mind, 1600/2000 510's, 240Z'S etc. In the car world, depreciating then going back up to the sticker price is not that big of a trick. So don't be...
The last one I sold is well over 6 figures now.......... Not the top at all.
The old website floats along like a ghost ship......

Having bought and sold Muscle cars prior to my NSX prices still seem fairly tame to me.
Sold my last 1965 for 87k. 10 yrs ago. Thats crazy for a $5000.00 car IMO.
I bought my 94 10 yrs ago when word leaked they were being discontinued. I always wanted one
and thought prices would shoot up on the news. They didnt. So now folks are shocked they are going for
more than a new Camry? They shouldnt be. They were all pretty close to $100k cars when new.
Why...
That seems about right, 4 yrs ago was about the low as I recall.
(Have not checked pricing much since then)
Prior to that dip prices seemed to have been unchanged for many years.
Thanks for the "Tool". Played around on it a bit. Different yrs etc...
My car is not for sale, but I noticed prices are starting to finally go up a bit.
Have owned my 94 for 10 yrs. now and it looks like good early cars are back in the High 30's - 40's again.
Is that about right?
I remember a few yrs ago things were looking grim as several decent cars were in the...
What brand cats? Looks like your in Northern Ca. Is that right? My car is due next month for its check.
I have not really followed it, but I am not sure there are any non OEM Ca. legal aftermarket CATS? Does anyone know of any? Just in case? Thanks
Why do you think the passing criteria keeps going lower?
Do you really think the cars are running better 20 yrs later?
Or are folks faking out the machines to pass causing the numbers to drop?
Look at the numbers on my above post on 8/3/12. How can we expect these cars keep running cleaner as they get older?
Looking at your numbers, I will have a hell of a time passing next year.
My passing test from 8/3/12
Wow, you found it?
We tried everything including the Ref.
The one I bought had to be spliced as the connections didnt match.
Hope its the right one that just plugs in!
