    Most expensive car wash....ever!

On ANY car, the first thing to check would be the easily-accessible ancillary parts, like the alternator, power steering pump, AC compressor, recirculation air pumps on older cars, etc. Just remove the belts and check those parts by hand. Half-hour job at most. This is so obvious it's laughable.

Hey, thanks Don! I didn't know Mungenast had those guys. If my certified guy at Meyer Honda falls through then I'll give them a shot. One benefit with Meyer is they always wanted me to provide the parts so that was a good deal. Really appreciate your advice in any case.

    Dreaded clutch switch

The easiest way to access the hole in the clutch pedal is to do it while you bleed the clutch system. Open the bleed screw on the slave cylinder, depress the clutch pedal and replace the plug while the pedal is on the floor. Then complete the bleeding process in a normal fashion. Same is true...

Amazing the NSXs that come out of the woodwork! Separate issue: I'm looking for a shop recommendation. I have some maintenance projects I don't feel like getting into (all coolant hoses, 02 sensors, etc.) I've used an Illinois Honda dealer who has an NSX-certified tech before but haven't...

Bridgestone Potenza RE010 vs BF Goodrich G-Force Rival S 1.5

That's true of nearly all of the "extreme performance summer" tires. They're basically auto-x / track tires and most of the manufacturers won't cover the warranty if the damage is from exposure to cold.

    Willman stereo retrofit stock stereo

Agreed on all points 7tcatvert! I did this a couple of years ago. Daryl's the best and this is the only way to have a reliable, working head unit while keeping the OEM appearance. I gave up trying to use the joystick knob, but eventually figured out the remote and working through the menus...

Bridgestone Potenza RE010 vs BF Goodrich G-Force Rival S 1.5

Likely not an issue for you but the BFG's are "not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures"

CL65 Captain, thanks for the report! I thought that car looked decent for the money, but of course the nitpicking internet "experts" find all kinds of faults and supposed faults without even seeing the car. Good to hear, and I love that black. 7tcatvert, great news from you too! Good day...

Well, I lied. A client just handed me a ton of lucrative work, so I'll be working Saturday. Make hay while the sun shines, huh? Stupid business getting in the way of my fun - I need to retire.

How to get the NSX-R Momo Horn Button to work?

The part on the right is what comes with the wiring kit from The NSX Shop. The spring provides the contact.

    Insurance Company Raised Value

How is it unreasonable to charge a higher premium for a lot more agreed value? I'm happy they did this, as I was woefully underinsured and needed to raise the agreed value anyway. Got the new premium invoice yesterday, and it's $183/year higher, $583 total. I don't think that's unreasonable...

Yeah, I'm a little anxious about what the new premium will be... The car has 139K miles but is in superior condition in every way.

    Steering wheel install

I *THINK* the NSX-R hub with a flatter-dish MOMO wheel, or similar, might end up farther from the driver's seat than the OEM wheel. I haven't installed this setup yet so I'm not sure, but that's been my experience with MOMO hubs and wheels in a number of other cars (Porsches, BMWs, Saabs). I...

    Insurance Company Raised Value

Interesting communique' from my insurance company! Funny thing is I was just about to contact them to do the exact same thing before my next premium was due. I can't speak highly enough about Leland West; I had an axceptionally good experience when I totalled my 911, which provided a settlement...

Is there a preferred brake caliper refinisher/power-coater you use?

Here's the 911 calipers they did for me (my lettering). The finish stayed that nice even after several years of road trips, track days, etc. But the real benefit is their top notch rebuilding. On the NSX, I provided some extra new hardware that they would normally clean up, like caliper pins...

Is there a preferred brake caliper refinisher/power-coater you use?

I've had Goldline remanufacture several sets of Porsche calipers over the years, and they did my NSX calipers a couple of years ago. They do a thorough rebuild, and they have an awesome proprietary coating that is super durable. I did many track days with my 911, including a couple of brake...
