    new owner

Congratulations from an NSX owner in Nor Cali. I'm about 60 miles inland from San Fran. Used to live in So Cali but got a job relocation to No Cali and love it. So if the car has been in Cali most of its life you should be in good shape. Enjoy many years of ownership.......

After a 2+ year search, I've finally found her...

I have the RE760's and very happy with them. Check out the link below from tire rack: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=UHP Lots of opinions by using search function for tires. I'd have all 4 tires the same. I believe the 010's are pretty sticky, hence the...

After a 2+ year search, I've finally found her...

Congratulations on your purchase, quite a rare car. I'm from the "Purist Club" so returning the car to bone stock, especially a Zanardi is the way to go. Rims and chin spoiler and anything else about the car that was modded. When you show the car it should be in it original skin. Now off my soap...

new purchase advice, supercharged or no

Right on the money. Why add stuff at big $$$$ when you can be happy with stock. Ask me how I know :tongue: Buy a GN if you want to go fast in a straight line!!

What year and kind of vett?? Can I assume a NA2 NSX??

tell me about NA1 and NA2 intangibles

Shift points I believe depend on if the car is tuned. My car is a 1996 stocker. I shift between 3,500-4,000 rpm (closer to 4,000 during normal driving. I think 3,000 rpm is a tad low, but you may save on gas mileage!! The cars red line is 8,000 rpm's so shifting in the 4,000 - 5,0000 rpm range I...

    91' Acura NSX Silver/Black with 60K-GoOd buy??

Nice to get a one owner, even better if the one owner took care of the car. Add $2,000 if TB/WP not done or no evidence, that includes AC/ALT belt and Valve job. Coolant hoses not done add $1,000. Tires, how worn and age of them replace $600. Misc stuff. windup window thingies, service, ECU...

Is a 10 year old filter still good?

+1 on simple cost of the filter. Also, filter technology today is probably better than 10 years ago......another reason to get a new one. Having said all this, I think the risk of a problem is pretty small and assuming you kept it in a cupboard versus out in the elements.

    New owner (pretty long)

Nice read mate and congratulations on getting your dream car. I'd spend the $100-200 and have the car inspected (even though only 13,000 miles) to get your "baseline" of the car. I'm assuming no PPI was done!! Tell the wife after the PPI that the TB/WP should really be done pretty soon. I've...

Thanks Don @ Hilltop Auto Service

I have a tremendous amount of respect for Don and his team but when he said he'd wash my car I said NO...I'll take care of my paint. I suggest you call him and tell him your issue (and at least one other view) so he knows that washing the car may not always be that easy and in fact he could make...

Trying to find some easy answers...

That in my "personal view" is total BS. Having seen other NSX's over the years with ultra low miles, $50K was not it. I'll bet this car has only oil changes (maybe) as records, if that :mad: Most dealer and I say most, are a crock of crap. Having said that, every dealership has a true...

1987 Buick Grand National VS NSX

Yep....running 20 lbs of boost actually right now. Now if only I could build the transmission + 3,000 stall and get some stickies like my buddy.....would be keeping up with GT3's all day long. I sometimes wonder how much these NSX folks know about a tuned GN :wink:

1987 Buick Grand National VS NSX

When you compare my 2 cars its like looking at a big old tug boat compared to a sleek machine. But my GN gets all the looks and honks...NSX is definitely a guy magnet like others have posted in this forum. As for you buying one, you need to be old and like to go fast in a straight line...

1998 NSX - any general concerns?

Docjohn, thanks for the correction. Geography 101 was not my best subject in HS and barely passed in England so many years ago........

Trying to find some easy answers...

+1 you just got to get in the car a check out your 6' 2" and 250 lbs getting in, getting out and your comfort when in. If this does not work for you, then my "personal" view is you may view the car as a "pain in the a$$" over time.....

1987 Buick Grand National VS NSX

Take a look at post #15 to understand why this thread started in error. But there have been 40+ posts that seems to support some interest. Cougarcat is right, they are both 6 cylinders, and, lest we forget, both manufacturers have run the Indy 500. Both cars are available in black and the NSX...

1998 NSX - any general concerns?

Yes, if the Northeast is where the car is that's your best bet. Some on this main forum may see this too. http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=8

1998 NSX - any general concerns?

ShopTeacher, may want to ask if there is a prime member locally who could check out the car for you. That is, unless your going to jump on it right there an then if the car meets your expectations. Honcho comments pretty much on the money. Do a Carfax before you leave (not always accurate but...

    NSX for $5,800?

Not driving the GN as much as I'd like. But its ready to go anytime at $7.50 a gallon for 100 octane. Couple of weeks got a cruise to do. Your next visit to SF with time to spare I'll take you for a ride in the GN, plus a ride in my red NSX just to prove red is a little bit faster than silver...
