I got the pins since I have the carbon ceramic brakes. More peace of mind since it will cost a pretty penny if the CCBs are damaged by the wheel during removal or install! Sometimes I wish I just had the iron brakes, lol.
Tagged for follow up. Very interesting stuff.
I'm debating ceramic coating vs clear bra as well. PPF definitely will offer more protection but is more costly, but ceramic coating is also very expensive, and doesn't provide as much protection.
Personally I think the McLaren MP4-12C really pays homage to the first gen NSX, with the inline rear spoiler, and general gorgeous body proportions. I was never a huge fan of the MP4-12C, until I saw it in action in this video (about 0:40 mark, and dat rear at 2:06 mark)...
Congrats!! Can you post pictures of your NSX? Does it have a carbon fiber spoiler? Sounds very similar to my NSX... what other upgrades do you have?
You got an amazing deal, even better than me, so congrats, and enjoy!!
I'm in Arizona. What's most shocking to me is not that it gets attention, but the type of folks it gets attention from. It's not just the typical teens & young men. It's folks of all ages, both men and women.
As I mentioned, middle-age and older guys and women come up to gawk, make comments...
It was not difficult, but SOS did the install. Here are my recommendations:
1. make sure the car is raised so you can work on it with plenty of room.
2. you can use painter's tape to tape the bottom piece to the bottom of the car, then measure twice, drill once for the screw holes. Careful...
Yes I have the SOS front bumper protectors installed, they are great!! This car is lower than my 1st gen lowered NSX, and I managed to scrape the bottom rubber strip / guard underneath the bumper just going down my driveway at an angle! So I am very glad I have the bumper guards installed, and...
Surprised to see this has not been talked about yet. I'm wondering what people's reactions to your new NSX has been.
I have only put 200 miles on my car, which is to say, have barely driven it. I've only driven it 3-4 times due to holidays, work, travel, etc. Here are some notable reactions...
I agree it is uncertain, but I disagree with the other guy who thinks these cars will be under $100k in a year...just not possible. While these will depreciate like supercars, it is a Honda / Acura after all, and having owned the first gen NSX for nearly 15 years, they have held up their value...
Tagged for reminder later to change mine. Just wanted to confirm - regardless of what mode it starts up in, does it always make that loud exhaust note for a second or two? Would be nice to stealth start it up, with no noise, for those stealthy get-aways. :)
PS - I'm usually in quiet or sport...
Wow, that car is pretty spectacular, especiall in white. It definitely has sex appeal, similar to the McLaren 570 / 720s.
To be honest, I was not a fan of the new NSX initially, since it didn't drip sex appeal right off the bat like the gen 1 NSXs. But now having seen it up close, owning...
Not a bad deal, if the car has the options and colors you want. I was told the cars will have to stay as is from the factory, ie if you want a spoiler but if your car didn't come with one, too bad. Basically most if not all of the options on the car are specific for that car. So if you wanted...
I have the CCB's but I hear so many great things about the stock Iron brakes, lol. It makes me wonder if the CCB was really an upgrade or not. I heard you can possibly damage the CCB's if you're not careful taking off the wheels and it wacks the rotors, which could cost thousands to replace...
While getting window tint for my NSX, I inquired into getting the small rear port window tinted. I used clear crystaline tint to reduce heat, so appearance is not so important to me versus heat & UV protection.
My tint guy said he looked into it, called Acura, and was told the rear port window...
Based on my many visits to many different Acura dealerships, it seems like each Acura dealership is completely different in philosophy and operation than the next. So I wouldn't take anything as gospel based on a single Acura dealership doing something. His Acura dealer may suck, financially...
Yes my backup camera looks a little fuzzy and unclear, even compared to my 2009 Nissan Maxima that I owned which had excellent back up camera. Not sure if it's due to the fact this has multiple angles/views and such.
I think a 360 degree view camera is essential due to how wide the car is, and...
I didn't know that was an option to refuse to pay the tax on the $30k incentive. Is that for leases only, or for purchases also? For my purchase, the $30k was marked down as part of the down payment, so it had nothing to do with the sales tax unfortunately.
