Who me? ;)
It was great having you and the gang up here in Toronto for NSXPO! You were a riot and it was good times.
Ill be sending you some 02 door pieces to color match when my car goes to sleep. Ill be in touch!
When you buy a new Timing Belt and Water Pump from the dealer as a kit, it includes the updated timing cover. If you already have the belt and pump, shoot me a PM. I have a few extra and can ship one out to you if you pay for shipping and a nominal fee for my troubles (packing, etc)
Wow... I don't troll the boards much these days but wow! I don't know what it is but I'm seeing more and more online drama... Of course every online forum will have its' epic threads... like some of the vendor ones that come to mind but maybe we are spending too much of our time online...
You say you cleaned the AIT sensor but have you considered changing it out? While my problem was slightly different than yours as I was failing idle rather than failing higher RPM, cleaning the AIT did not help and I had to replace it to pass.
This weekend I was on a nice long cruise with the NSXCA club and decided to troubleshoot and verify the results of tightening the slack.
What I can say for certain, is that there is no hot air coming from within the radio cavity any longer. I suspect that either my floor/side ducts were not...
Paul, it sounds like you hit the nail on the with this one and I'll check this before anything else.
Also... it's comments like this that keep me (ever so slowly) producing powder coated covers! My wife keeps flogging me about my "failed business" and when I tell her it takes me about 25-30...
Hey Speedmaster, welcome! The more members working on the problem the better we are as a community in solving these issues and it will benefit everyone!
As suggested by Shawn, check the blower seals first. That is probably the largest firewall opening that needs to be sealed between the...
Ill let u know. I have my doubts though. I feel it must be the heater/evaporator since the heater core is inside it and is situated in the lower portion.
If thr heater core heats up the entire assembly and its radiating heat, then there is nothing we can do but i think it must be a leak in...
Hey Jag. Thanks for keep us updated. Hmm must be something else. I drove the other day and felt the heat as well. Ive got a type r hood and im installing thenhood duct soon. Maybe that can rule out the heat from the rad, then it must be something else ie maybe where the coolant comes in for...
Super old thread I know, but I figured I would close out my open issues in case there were searches, etc. In the end it was simply the AIT sensor that needed replacement which was something that was discovered to be a common cause for Idle HC dumping of fuel around 2012. Drew was on the right...
Hi jagtiger, well... after 2 years I still have this problem as I did not really drive it much the last 2 years but it's back on the road this year and after a recent drive I still noticed this so I still have to fix it. I still need a good passenger to sit with me to help me isolate the...
I think u might be right. I do have some vacuum rerouting as i have NA2 valve covers on my NA1 engine. Ill check the lines when i have time. I pulled the injectors about 5 years ago and had RC eng service them and i put new seals in at that time.
Rdx injectors going in soon so fresh seals...
Stock cats. I have 2 sets of cats. Got an extra set when i was first failing almost 9 years ago. One set has about 120k on them amd the other has about 60k. Both sets have been used to pass. Keep the car running while u wait for the test.
Been 2 years since i replied and never went for an e test till this year. Ive done a lot which likely contributed to the now low numbers however my idle still has somewhat high HC.
While I did a lot of things, its more likely that the IAT sensor is what allowed the car to pass. I write this...
Sorry i didnt see this earlier. You can get temp stickers for 10 days and the cost is only $17 or so but thats what u r supposed to do if they are expired and u need to drive.
One thing that I've noticed on my cars in comparison is corrosion and seizing of nuts and bolts on the underside. I don't drive my NSX in the winter and the one difference that I notice esp. with the STi (2010) which is a much newer car, is the amount of corrosion that happens in a short amount...
