Kind of reminds me of having a electronic device that uses 4 d cell batteries and only replacing 1 of the batteries when it quits working........ It is good to think outside the box but not in this case.

If the units that are on the car are OEM then I would seriously consider sending the struts to Frank at StrutWise and be done with it....... He is reasonably priced and the turn around time is a day or two at most. For me it was a easy choice and one I would chose if I had to do it over again...

I too love the look of the lighter color mats in the cars but they are very impractical.... Has anyone ever taken the time to protect their new mats (or properly clean old mats) and then spray them with a Scotchgard type product? I am sure it wouldn't hurt and possibly might help.

Couldn't you do a pre-owned C class AMG car since the other cars you are looking at are also pre-owned? I also like the Audi S5 although I haven't looked at them too closely. It does have beautiful lines.
