I was in high school when the war in Vietnam started.
I wasn't trying to change the subject of this post. I was trying to bring the OP's request to restore his faith in humanity by answering a simple math equation into perspective.
The above list serves to support my loss of faith in...
Only way to get to Augusta is via 94. From Ellisville the shortest way is Chesterfield Airport Rd. to 40 west to 94 south. No shorter routes that I know. There are other ways to get to Augusta but none are shorter. 94 is a nice drive .
Ummm - The ad says Sept. 23. I may go to look around and watch a few drag races. Once you get skilled on driving road courses the drags seem lacking in driving excitement. But, to each their own and I don't seem to tire of looking at nice cars, motorcycles and hot chicks (which should be there...
I'm with you. When I started tracking my car I went through all the mechanicals beforehand. When I removed the inside drivers side boot to repack the CV I found hundreds of little pieces of chewed up needle bearings. The axle never made a sound. I would also recommend replacing the thermostat...
Why are you replacing the boots? Mine are OK on a 1991 with 120K miles. If they are leaking just repack the grease. Clean the boots with a good silicone spray and you're good to go. You can even reuse the bands if you take them off carefully.
Look up at the usual suspects - valve cover gaskets, spool valves, cam plugs. Most oil leaks on these engines originate in these places and seep downwards.
If the click you hear is from the starter solenoid, then yes the ignition switch is sending it current. I mentioned the ignition switch as a preventative measure because it's a known failure on these cars and an easy DIY. The engine grounds are located by the alternator and the coolant tank. The...
If it turns out not to be your starter contacts, next check your engine grounds (there are 2 of them). You should also clean your ignition switch contacts. If they are not carboned-up yet they will be soon. It is a known problem on these cars. Be sure to post your fix.
Your leak is probably the cam plug (cam seals are a different part). This happens on all of these engines. Also, there are 2 gaskets that need to be replaced on each of the VTEC solenoids (spool valves). These will also leak oil - eventually.
There will be a small amount of gas leak from the rail when you remove it from the injectors (have some paper towels ready to sop it up). You can leave the fuel lines attached to the rail because there's no need to remove them. Allow a couple of hours after you turn off the engine before you...
No way it could have the same effect, but it could create other problems (stuck valve, etc.). A leakdown test may be in order for your symptoms though.
Yep, that's it.
I have had a friend use a borescope to look into my intake manifold to see if the bolts holding the butterflies were in place (they have been known to loosen and get sucked into the engine causing major damage - mine were all in place). You could get lucky and find the...
OK, so it sounds possibly like a fuel issue. First jumper the fuel pump resistor to keep the fuel pressure at max, then try running it. Could it be bad gas? Have you replaced the fuel filter? Do you have any way to check fuel pressure? It could be a bad fuel pump. You can always disconnect the...
