Zygrene, great video. I'm a huge fan of your channel.
Had a deposit on a GT4 before I bought my NSX.
Got a chance to drive my friend's GT4. Handling was amazing. Drivetrain underwhelmed me, like you said, needs another 50 hp and I would also say 500rpm higher redline. In combination with...
A lot of this sounds very similar to tuning with a standalone vs chipping/tune remap for the engine. The more your setup deviates from stock the more a custom tune you need beyond some generic tune out of the box.
Ryu, the car geek part of me envies all the suspension knowledges you’ve gained...
I believe the SBG ohlins are 3900? Is there a kit that goes for less? It’s more than the KW but also includes top hats and bearings. Has there been any comments the SBG ohlins are noisy because of the stiffer top mount? Which makes me also wonder if the iLift system is compatible with the...
Thank you RYU for your insightful input.
I guess the compromise I have to pick is dampener quality vs tuning. A tuned OOB JRZ setup sounds like the best of both worlds if that even makes sense.
I honestly don’t have the time and expertise to tune a suspension setup. Not at this stage of my...
I’m in the market for coilovers. Tempted to go with KW V3 because it’s the tested and ready to go solution. However I have always been curious about the Ohlins due to how compliant they are at low speeds. Not much info to be found on NSX applications mainly because it seems nobody until...
I enjoy clarkson’s commentary because it’s entertaining and exaggerated. But the cars he loves I often find to be so so and vice versa. Reviews have their place if I don’t own a car or driven it briefly. Once I own the car my review is the only one that matters. So I echo the sentiment...
I think you're in a tough situation. I doubt anything you replace the NSX with you'll love as much in the long term and will cost much more to run on the track. Personally I would go for a Ferrari or Porsche GT car. Both much more emotive than McLaren or NC1 with possibly lower running costs.
Hello, very interested but a few questions. Sounds like stiffness is similar to stock so I am wondering if there is any performance benefit. Also when the bushing eventually goes bad how will replacement go? I am thinking seriously long term, as in 5-10 years from now?
I have both a 997.2 C4S and a NSX.
Two different cars. The 911 is much more usable in general. The NSX is a toy for me.
If I had to sell one it would be the 911 though.
You're right 997's will be available at a fair price for a while. NSX is only climbing.
If it's going to be a weekend only car I would want it to be an occasion
NSX if you like to tinker and want a more raw/mechanical experience
McLaren if you want awesome out of box performance, McLaren experience, a real head turner on the streets
911 Turbo would be the least exciting and exotic...
Would like to bring something back for the NSX. Not looking for anything big. I know we can get most JDM items in the US now but is there anything you would get if you were taking a trip yourself? Might drop by Spoon while I'm at it.
I have run though this question myself.
I think a category 1 NSX is a bit different than the cars you have mentioned simply because it is a collectable and the point would be to not put miles on it.
Except the GT3 none of the others are collectables as a category 1 status. They're simply low...
Looking to do a PPI in Salt Lake City Utah, did a search on Prime and didn't find any.
Know of TurboLabs but want to consider all my options before I chose
Thanks
Thanks guys for the recommendations! I'm looking at the car in this ad: http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php/179861-1992-Blk-Blk-39-8k-miles-5sp-JH4NA1151NT001276-for-sale-Houston-TX
Looking to buy an NSX located in Houston. Would like some PPI recommendations and how much I should expect to spend. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Keith
