Did you pay with PayPal? And if so, as family and friends or for services? You might be able to dispute the charges if you paid with services..

If someone asks you to pay with friends and family and you don't already know them, DO NOT pay with friends and family, just offer to cover the paypal fees.
This! Don't use non-reversible or unguaranteed payment methods with folks you don't know.
These scammers are gutting our trusting community and Facebook will do nothing. It's too easy to manufacture fake feedback. Took the liberty of editing the title to hopefully get the word out a bit more.

And another Primer just got scammed as well when he posted his contact information and a scammer impersonated the seller.

More tips here:

Unfortunately, you’ve been scammed. If I shared the messages I exchanged with them, you’d probably get a laugh out of it. They use fake names and then send PayPal details, requesting payment through Friends and Family. I report these to Facebook immediately.

When I question their requests to use Zelle with a name that doesn’t match, they come up with the most ridiculous excuses: “Oh, that’s my cashier’s account,” or “I don’t have Zelle, but someone else does.” It’s the same routine every time. I’ve reported nearly a dozen profiles so far.

The good news is that Facebook has taken down these fake profiles, but as soon as one is removed, several more appear. They don’t give up, but neither will I. A little help would go a long way.

Here are some of the fake profiles I’ve reported that were banned by Facebook. My tip: report suspicious profiles as quickly as possible!
