Since having owned a Fiero and a NSX this article caught my eye.

My first car was an 1986 Fiero GT

Mine's a similar path, but European. The Fiero was a very rare sight in England. So I started from a Fiat X1/9 on my way to the NSX. (By way of Mk1 MR2, NA MX5 and R33 GT-R.)

I did not own a Fiat X/19 but drove lots of them when I worked for a Fiat dealership back in the late 70's and early 80's. That's where I fell in love with mid engine cars. As my signature shows I owned a 85 MR2 and a 95 MR2 and loved both of them as I do the NSX.

I always wanted a 2nd Gen MR2 Turbo with a manual but whenever I found one it was beat to death.
