How to disable Factory Alarm

My factory alarm has been giving me problems lately by going off when it shouldn't. I think its a TSB problem related to the keylock issue.

In any case, I had a buddy put in a Python alarm for me so I don't have to use the factory keyless anymore.

What we ended up with is a working Python alarm. But I also noticed that the factory alarm will be armed also if I try to lock the door with the keys.

I wanted to know if there is anyway to completely disable the factory alarm. Can i take out a fuse? cut a wire?

Thanks.

When i had mine done, the had to ground the bypass wire which is located in the driver's side door. I believe he said is was the green one. No cutting needed. I know you can also disconnect the alarm up front by the radiator and it needs to be grounded as well.

Short the alarm switch connector under the hood - mine is currently since I am getting false alarms (probably a door switch issue). I just used a paper clip and some electrical tape.

Just So Thateveryone Will Know, Pete's Quick Fix Worked For Me. Thanks For All Who Had Imput. Most Of All Thank You Pete!

Does anyone have a photo of this fix.

Or of this?

Disabling A Faulty Alarm
[MBA - 2000/2/13] To disable the alarm, the quick way is to unplug the hood switch, the two wire gray connector between the washer fill cap, blue, and auxiliary hood release lever, red. The alarm won't set if it 'thinks' one of the portals is open.
-------thanks.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I'd like to know if someone can give an "easier to follow" explanation of how to short out the alarm from under the hood.

Mine goes off whenever I unlock the door from the drivers side, it doesn't go off if I unlock the door from the passenger side.

When the hood is open (or the switch is actually open) the alarm won't arm when you lock the car, therefor it won't go off with the situation you described. Of course the alarm won't be set at all so bear that in mind!
If you have keyless entry that won't work either.

See the pics in this post
The hood switch is circled in the top pic & can be seen more clearly in the lower one.
You can either
a) (mis)adjust the switch so it isn't being depressed by the hood latch lever
b) disconnect the plug & short out the two pins of the plug (jumper across the wires)
c) turn the hood catch plate/lever assembly around 180 deg so it is facing like the one in this pic (it's the 'wrong' way round) - that way the hood will still latch but the switch won't be actuated since the lever is pointing off to the opposite side, away from the switch.

But really, have your problem resolved per the link in post # 5 - http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Reference/tsb/93-007.htm
