NSX - Garage/Stable Mates?

In the spirit of keeping this forum active and invigorating...

We are all NSX enthusiasts and fanatics, but at the same time, we are all passionate about cars in general. I would love to hear what other cars you have in your garage, or you have owned in between or during your NSX ownership? What other cars have you enjoyed owning next to your NSX? What cars complement/supplement your NSX in your garage?

As for me, I currently drive a '95 Porsche 911 (993), '09 Porsche Cayman S, '07 Alfa Romeo 4C.

I enjoy driving the NSX and the 993 the most (I drive them multiple times a week and of course, the NSX is my favorite to drive).

The Cayman is nice, but almost too perfect. I have been debating whether to sell it or not in the last 12 months...

The 4C usually just sits in the garage. It's a fun car for the first 15 minutes when driven hard, but then it becomes quite exhausting. Having said so, I do think it's a special car with the entire frame of the car made out of carbon fiber. Somewhat under-appreciated and misunderstood currently. Perhaps, it will become like an NSX in 20 years.

Sticking to the interesting stuff.

1975 Datsun 280z: Interminably paused project car. Will eventually be resto-modded a bit at some future date when the other two "project" cars can simultaneously behave themselves for long enough.
1991 MR2 Turbo (sold): I had this before and overlapped a few years with my NSX. Sold to a guy who had more plans for it than I did at a time where the NSX was getting all the attention. Great little cars though.
2004 Lamborghini Gallardo: Gated manual car, cheapest one I could find, next to no options, came with stories, but a clean title. Makes V10 noises. Any comparison to my NSX on hold until I have it running completely right and take it to a track.
2007 MINI Cooper S(sold with gusto): Liz's first "fun" car. Super fun to drive, utter shite to work on. Cursed with BMW over-complexity and French "engineering". The R56s are mechanical basket-cases and the "Prince" engine isn't fit for purpose. Traded after it developed a coke problem.
2013 VW GTI: Replaced the MINI. Not *quite* as fun, but close, and infinitely less headache so far. It's a "Wolfsburg Edition" so a few extra bells and whistles. 9/10 for practical fun, only gripe is that it's inexplicably hard to see to where I'm reversing, awkward B/C pillar placement and head-rests.
 
Tons of cars before started being able to afford some nicer stuff.

1996 NSX sold regrettably for down payment on a house.

Going back many years I grew up on a bunch of Fiat's, VW's, MG's, MR2's, S2000's, and an occasional Fiero, Javelin, 280Z, 914, and others that are forgettable.... More recently have sold a 928 S4 with a dogleg 5 speed (cool car but always felt "heave" and not fun to drive); a C4 Corvette (one of the more unpleasant cars I've owned..); a 2014 Boxster S (actually a fantastic sports car). Current lineup is a Toyota Avalon (wifey car and really under appreciated); Toyota Highlander (great cars and my second one); my 2000 NSX (low mileage and stock); and my recently acquired 2017 NSX (kinda apples and oranges to the original but quickly learning to love it!).

Currently own the 92 NSX, 01 S2000, 04 Lexus IS300 (bone stock), 06 Ford Fusion, and 07 Hyundai minivan. The NSX is my favorite, the S2000 is probably the best on curvy roads and the IS300 isn't quick but it handles well and is surprisingly pleasant to drive. Prior cars include such notables as a 65 Mustang 200 cu in 6-cyl automatic ( a serious dog!), 80 Chevette automatic (would have handily outrun the Mustang), a 92 Acura Vigor (great car), and a 84 CRX 1.5 liter (underpowered but a lot of fun), among others. Would like to acquire a Cayman S.

No, just like the NSX, when I saw it in the showroom, when I brought my Legend in for service, I knew I wanted one. It was the same thing with the RX7, and the Ford GT. I always got the big 3 magazines (MT, R&T, C&D), and was presold on the 3 of them.

[MENTION=8302]TigerNSX[/MENTION], I've always been wondered about the long-term appeal when it comes to the 4C. Certainly seems to have a lot going for it (Italian styling, CF tub, weight, etc.) and is certainly unique.

My current daily driver is a 2003 540i w/6 speed manual. It's the "rare" M-sport model so has all the M5 goodies and a V8, just lacks about 100hp. Sometimes I wish I had the M5 but this is far cheaper to maintain and doesn't suffer the same rod bearing issues, and I don't have to feel bad about putting 15-20k miles a year on it. It's become as much of a project car as the NSX at this point so my only hope of getting rid of it is someone running into it and totaling it beyond the point that I can repair it.

[MENTION=3739]Ojas[/MENTION] What a collection you have! Yes, I rarely see a 4C on the road (even though it's not as rare as your Zanardi or LFA :biggrin:). And when people see one, they don't know what it is... It drives like it's really mad all the time - you are either on or not. Many people compare it to a Lotus Exige, but aside from its size, I don't think they are similar. It rather feels more like a mini Scuderia. There is no carpet covering the carbon tub, so you hear every single pebble on the road. Its engine/exhaust note is raw. Steering is sensitive (also no power steering), and suspension is harsh. I still prefer driving my NSX 9 out of 10 times. However, when 1 out of 10 times I drive the 4C, it does feel special.

how do u like the vantage?

It's really fun. But you need to 'learn' how to drive it, if you want to drive fast. There are a fewer passive driver aides than most other cars. Off the line acceleration takes time to learn...lot of independent wheel hop if not done right. 0-60 is about 3.7, But the seating position is not as comfortable as other cars I've had. Last of all...speed bumps or bad driveways are costly, the CF front lip cost $6,500 (I haven't hit it yet :tongue:) The V12S is a beast you need to learn to tame :cool:.
