Sealing screw on head leaking?

Hey guys,
I've been tracing a tiny leak that I have and I think I've found the culprit. Its just enough that I can smell it. Can anyone check and see if theirs is supposed to be screwed in flush with the head? This is on a 3.2L head closest to the firewall.

Forgot to mention this is right behind the EGR valve.

Oh ok sounds good didn't know how mine came loose or if it came loose for a reason. The good thing is I have the motor out so I can get to it with no problem. Did you screw it all the way in or is there a stopping point. Thanks

I screwed it until it stopped. It doesn't go all the way through. If you have the motor out you might as well check the remaining sealing screws that ive seen leak before. The ones on the head like this and the larger ones on the block.

i figure i should pull it out and put some loctite on it so it won't happen again. Im guessing the rest of them are also on the back side of the engine?

Whoah!!! I have the same problem with one on the back of the head just above the exhaust manifolds. Dripping a teeny bit of oil onto the exhaust and making it smell like an old Subaru. I tightened mine and it didn't take care of the problem so next year it's coming out and getting thread sealant. Sure would be a silly way to burn the car down if that oil caught a flame.

How deep do you have to reach to get to that little bugger back there? Pretty deep. I dunno how I would've pulled this off if I didn't weigh 130lbs

Sadly I can say i've been on top of the engine like that having such short arms lol.

They are on both sides of the heads. Check out this thread, It has some pretty good pictures and diagrams of where the sealing screws are.
