Hey all,

Noticed a while ago my instrument panel sounds like a mouse when i'm driving around...very annoying. Goes away when I press my hand up there but that's not very practical is it..?

So what have any of you done to correct the issue?

This year my 91 started to do the same thing so I too await comments from owners who have dealt with it.
It is very annoying.

One of the hinges of my glove box has made a cricket-like noise. It's currently disassembled for another reason but I'm hoping the issue is fixed when it goes back together. It does seem like for the instrument panel, identifying the moving interface and applying some felt tape will be a good approach.

I believe it could be the entire nose of the car twisting causing the dash to squeak. I ended up putting a front tie bar, the Nsx r one will do even thought it is not the stiffest one. And most of the noise went away. You will notice the squeak use to happen on a uneven patch of road that week twist your car like it is wringing out a towel.

i could very well be wrong on this and it may only have applied to my car, but i found that tightening the two screws in the upper "hood" of the instrument cluster where the plastic is makes the squeaking go away

its worked twice for me as when i picked up the car it was squeaking and after i put my coils on, the harder suspension made it squeaky again

i'm having squeaking from the trim panel around the ignition switch-does anyone have any ideas for that? i've tried tucking some foam around the edges, maybe helped a little.starting to get annoying.

bumping this to see again if anyone has any ideas for fixing a squeak around the ignition switch dash trim panel.

i'm also wondering if anyone has removed this panel and knows what's involved-it looks like it runs under the steering column to the left side where some padding is. thanks all.

That is the knee bolster. You have to be very careful when you remove it...the clips are easy to break. Some of your might already be broken and that could be causing the sound.

In going through the records for my car, I came across a complaint for a squeaky dash that was addressed by the dealer. My interior is squeak free. Every time I remove anything--even something as simple as changing a side market light--I find felt tape that the dealer installed to ensure no squeaks would happen. Given all of the places I have found it, it seems like they went through a lot of trouble. But it seems to have worked.

I have a similar rattle/squeak I need to track down. Tens of thousands of miles over suboptimal roads is finally catching up to my NSX...
