One of the great things about owning an NSX is that a cottage industry of guys who fix or make improved versions of parts that frequently go wrong has developed. Some of these parts are no longer made, some are still available but are very expensive, and these guys are often making better versions that are quite a bit cheaper. My hope is that there will be more of this as time passes, since the car is now 10+ years out of production, and more parts will be discontinued. Also, the rise of 3-D printing may provide a way for replacement parts to be made. Lud recently posted a helpful thread listing NSX specialty mechanics around the country, and that got me thinking about this other aspect of ownership. So here,in no particular order,is the list of folks I know of from my journeys through Prime and,in some cases,my own use:
BRIAN K-CCU Boards,Speaker Amps, EPS Boards, and Aspirator Fans.
http://nsxe-repair.com/
I think he is the king of this category, having done this for so many of our cars over time. When I was driving along one day and my fan would only blow on high,I knew right away I needed to send the board to Brian. My amps were done preemptively as part of a mechanical refresh last year. His prices are very reasonable and he offers fast turnaround.
HUGO (HUGABUGA)-Windows.
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php/148138-NSX-Window-KITS?p=1424244#post1424244
Hugo is a mechanical engineer who didn't like how the windows worked when he got his NSX, and made a kit to improve them.It is reasonably priced and offers substantial improvement. He lives in Europe, but has twice come to the US for NSXPO and installed the kits himself all over the country, including on my car.You can,of course, get the kit and install it yourself when he's not here.
D1 GUY (MATT)-Rebuilds EPS Racks.
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php/155401-Power-Steering-Rack-Rebuild-Part-2-of-3 662-416-0900
This a fantastic service because I believe that new racks are unavailable,or that if they can be found after much searching they will likely cost over $7000. I have not had to have this done, but everyone who has has been very pleased.
UPDATE ON D1 GUY-This is his recent official Prime Vendor introduction post-

ANGUS (WIL)-High Flow Cats.
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showth...s+hi+flow+cats
These are very high quality, and replaced my failing oem ones at a fraction of the cost of oem ones. They also give you a nice extra roar on acceleration, and some more horsepower because of the lower restriction on exhaust flow. He also makes exhausts,RTP's,test pipes, turbo kits and sub enclosures, and installs Hugo window kits. Wil owns an NSX and is also a mechanic who works on them frequently. He knows a lot about the NSX.
PRIDE EXHAUST (MARK)-High Flow Cats.
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showt...sonated-Test-Pipes-High-Flow-Cats-amp-CEL-Fix
I have not used his products, but have seen him mentioned on here frequently. He also makes exhausts,RTP's, and test pipes.
BEN (DAISY AUTO)-Negative Battery Cables.
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showt...egative-battery-cable?highlight=battery+cable
Ben is one of the finest NSX mechanics around, and noticed lots of cars, like mine, coming in with crappy cable connections, loose and needing shims,so as his thread says,he built a better one.
A.S MOTORSPORT-Many Parts Including Throttle Cables.
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php/179605-Throttle-cable-reproductions-1990-1993
http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showt...ebsite-A-S-Motorsport-Rare-JDM-Parts-amp-More
I have not used them, but have them in mind as a resource.I would be especially grateful if my car had a throttle cable because I believe they are discontinued.
CARBON6 COMPOSITES- Alcantara, Textreme Carbon Fiber and Composite Parts.
http://carbon6composites.com/
I just learned about this one, so added them. Jeff@Carbon6 is a Prime vendor and fellow NSX owner, and says their goal is to make "highly engineered limited production pieces." They also have a full machine shop. I have not used them, but have their replacement ball joints, which look really nice, on my radar screen.
POLE2FLAG RACING-Light Bumper Beams, Anti-Roll Bars, Abs Delete, Brake Lines, Console-
http://www.pole2flagracing.com/nsx-am-parts.html
They mention an extensive racing background, and focus on NSX parts for street and track.
SCIENCE OF SPEED-Many Parts and Upgrades.
https://www.scienceofspeed.com/
They have a whole host of improved parts, too many to mention. I have their LMA kit, ABS upgrade, and hatch struts (one of which failed completely recently well out of warranty, and which they replaced anyway, which i appreciated.)
These are the ones I know about or have dealt with myself.I'm sure there are some I have missed,so please feel free to chime in.
Thanks to all these folks for providing a helpful service at a reasonable price, and helping keep these 10+ to 25+ year old cars on the road and running well.
