As some of you know, I've been importing a number of JDM parts for my car. I've been updating my build thread with pics, but thought I should post them here, as I feel like not many people have seen these parts up close. If you want my commentary, please refer to the build thread, I will keep this one for mostly just photos. I will update the thread as more parts come in.
To start, one of the key parts to my build is the GT-One Ver 6 titanium exhaust.
One detail that really stood out to me was how the inlet of the exhaust has a rolled weld to help smooth airflow. While it might help only in the slightest manner, it was this level of attention to detail that makes me love high end parts.
To go along with the exhaust, I also purchased the high flow cats from GT-One which uses SARD catalytic converters.
At a combined weight of 10.54 pounds, I expect them to be about half the weight of the stock units.
With the stock exhaust weighing 44.56 pounds, I've lost a little over 30 pounds, quite significant!
Mugen intake:
I thought it was interesting how the intake uses two velocity stacks, one that goes into the filter, and one that goes in the fender.
The fender velocity stack is one of my favorite parts of the intake. It's incredibly rigid.
Note the two different types of carbon.
Installed the intake last night, it was quite easy.
Here's the velocity stack that sits in the fender. I was wondering why it was flat on one side, and it's to give room to the fender liner.
