I did not need the clip for my rebuild. Pictured as is, except I took the hood latch mechinism too.
I bought the COMPLETE front cut from a professional salvage shop in California in case I needed frame rails, etc...I did not need the rails.
This picture shows how the clip arrived (perfectly undamaged front-end).
