Just got a new DF NSX-R gen 2 hood and NSX-R rear spoiler. Both are FRP as i plan to paint and am not a big fan of exposed carbon fiber. I plan to paint the hood red to match the red 91 i have. I also planned to paint the rear spoiler body color-red but also considering black due to that my car has a black roof. So what are people's thoughts? Opinions appreciated. I could also paint the roof red and then do the spoiler red too which is a look i like. Opinions and pictures especially appreciated.
Thanks

Glad you got a good one. I waited three and a half years for a warranty replacement and got one that was not QC'd before packing and arrived gouged one inch from the front lip, dead center- like that is where it was affixed to a jig. I advised them immediately and haven't heard from them since. That was a month and a half ago so I guess that they have washed their hands of me. Oh well...

I have what I think is a nice scheme that I'm going to try now that the weather is breaking. Awful photochopping but you'll get the idea. On both sides of the hood there is a rise that joins the flat part of the hood to the top of the wheel arches. It's a space that I'm going to leave CF, at it's widest it's about an inch and a half. It sorta looks like the vent designs on the GTR hood:

With a black roof painting the spoiler black would make sense to me, I haven't been a fan of body matched type-R spoilers. Thats just my opinion so take it how you will.

Frankly idk how to make an R spoiler look good. Don't paint and plain black looks like an unfinished add-on. Paint it and you emphasize how badly it changes the shape of the fenders when viewed from the side. It's more acceptable to me in carbon but even then not a really flowing piece. I would leave it black with a black roof.

I'd say leave it exposed carbon. Try it out for a bit. You never know, it could grow on you and you could end up liking it alot.

Yeah, i agree- looks good from behind but not sides. I Track the car a fair amount and wanted some more downforce but didn't want to go with a big-ass wing that looks ridiculous around town. I have looked for pics but have not seen any where someone painted the side supports body color and the actual wing black. I wonder if that would make the side view flow a bit better - or it could look horrible!
Thanks for the opinions.

You need to do the opposite if you do such a thing. Painting the sides elongates the fenders vertically unnecessarily. You need to leave those black, and paint the center...

This is a basic law of design. It is better to pickup color elsewhere than to attach colors together and have an off color next to that. I've mentioned this several times, I know no one has done it but if my wing was not full carbon, I would. I have a photoshop here for you to see what I am talking about:

This keeps the car's lines intact. Side view stays similar, it also doesn't disturb the curve up of the tail lights.

OP stated FRP. I agree with you though and contrary to Dave I think the R wing in CF looks awesome.

I did say carbon was the best option for this massive wing... But instill don't love it on a stock car. I like with your side scoops and black wheels. Mine is very similar.

If it was carbon fiber, you could do what I plan to do and get a tinted clear coat put on it so it looks black from a distance but up close you can see the CF weave, but the OPs isn't CF.

^^^^ thats a run on...LoL

Who did you buy it through. I thought df is not selling direct any more so the seller- middleman- should handle for you. I ordered through SOS.
Thanks

You are correct DF does not sell direct anymore but I've been trying to get this corrected for several YEARS.
