Another JDM Honda Badge Question

Hi Guys,

Just picked up an 05 NA2 the other day. Been reading a lot of threads about Honda conversions ranging from just the badges, to every single thing like the cassette tape deck door and the Honda airbag.

For now, I just want to start with the front and rear emblems, so my question becomes a bit more specific.

I noticed for the NA2-R, the rear center tail light has a protruding/external "H" badge. As if a badge were double sided taped onto the tail light - unlike the NA1 where it appears to be a black "H" sticker.

I guess my question becomes - is the front Honda emblem + center tail light conversion the only way to do this right, with OEM parts?

I noticed some vendors sell the red filled NA2-R badges as a pair, where the rear one is double-sided taped over the center tail light (it looks like the current Acura emblem is also stuck on externally...can it even be removed from the tail light?). Other vendors only sell a front badge and may or may not sell the rear center tail light too.

I'm just looking at the best (authentic oem) option. I'd rather not have to swap the rear tail light unless this is the ONLY "real" way to do it. If the rear NA2-R badge is the real deal and just sticks onto the tail light (and assuming Acura emblem can be removed easily), then I'm leaning towards this route.

Thanks

The OEM "A" is just mounted to the center tail light with tape. I removed the front and rear on mine. Can't help with the other questions but i think the rear emblem may be slightly smaller then the front.

Thanks. I'm assuming the standard heat gun/blowdryer and floss technique willl remove it?

My rear one came off with very little effort. I was able to pry it off by hand with no heat or floss. You can use them if needed.

Hi,

On 2002+ NSX-R, the front and rear badges are not the same type.

The front badge, is actually from the rear of a Honda Accord!

The rear badge is unique to the car. 75701-SL0-J61

Forgot to add,

OEM NSX-R front and rear badges are stick on.

Thanks for all the advice guys.

I just installed mine - yes, the part numbers are different for each badge so they are not identical. Both are stick on, neither the front nor rear have any prongs.

Both front and rear badges were removed with heat/floss/prying. No rear center tail lights were removed! :)

Is the A front badge on the NA1 ( I have a 91) stick on also? I'm looking to change it to the NA2 H badge.

Not sure about Acura spec. But euro/JDM that have Honda H, are stick on, BUT, there are also 2 small pins that go into Pre drilled holes on the bumper, and then are fixed by circlips.

Again not sure if this applies to US NA1 model.

I think they all have the holes and pins but the H badge should cover the holes. Most people remove the emblems by cutting the tape with dental floss i believe. There should be some posts about it on here.
