Just 2 days ago I completed yet another long road trip in my NSX. I once again drove from Florida to Kansas and back to hang out with my dad and sister and enter my car in an annual car show held in my old home town.
By the shortest possible route, it's just less than 1400 miles from here to there, but I wasn't traveling by the shortest route. This was my planned route:

Just over 1700 miles and most of it not on the Interstate Highway System after the first day. My goal was to be in Tulsa early enough on Monday to hang with some friends before proceeding on to Kansas the next day.
I am happy to say the trip was a complete success! My NSX performed flawlessly and I spent many happy hours cutting around on the back roads of North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Missouri. I first explored this route last year and perfected it this time. AWESOME WAY TO SPEND 2 DAYS!
How about some pics?
So I start Saturday morning just after daybreak. Car is clean clean clean, even though I know it won't be by the time I get to the motel that night.
Traffic on I75 before Atlanta sucked ass in a major way. Stopped for the night in Blue Ridge, Georgia (which isn't really close to Blue Ridge, Anywhere Else) and was greeted by this welcoming sight on Sunday morning.
Soon enough I found myself on the Cherohala Skyway where you'll see such vistas as this.
Kinda boring, isn't it? I thought so, so I turned around and took some pictures of my car.
Gotta love how pictures can lie. Car looks good above, but if you get close and take a picture, it's a different story!
Holed up for the night just on the other side of the Mississippi River. Woke up to rain.
Anyway, the next day found me in Nowhere Southern Missouri, home of The Ultimate Strip Joint. I was really sorry to find this at 8:00 AM instead of 8:00 PM. Love my reflection in the door.
The roads aren't as curvy, but there is a lot more elevation changes and it's faster and the locals are largely batshit crazy drivers too! I had fun there, but didn't stop to take pictures until I found myself on CR551 for a 2nd year in a row. Less water this year, just as much gravel. I tell myself, just drive slow...
So I make it to Kansas. That's Ar-Kansas City. The old Hometown...
And spend the week hanging with family and put my car in the big car show (about 600 cars this year) called "The Last Run" that they have every year at this time. A fun time is had by all. Here I am (on the right) with some high school friends that happened by.
One sad note, the greasy spoon breakfast joint downtown that I frequent when I'm home won't be there next year. Bummer.
Oh, here's a 7 minute cockpit video of my NSX on The Dragon. Okay, I was taking it easy but it was day 2 of a 10 day vacation. I wasn't inclined to take a lot of chances. Turn your speakers up!

That's it for now. I also stopped for a visit at the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing and I have a bunch of pictures from the car show. Those will follow - more to come!
