been trying to find out a good NEW wax to try. i'll see if there's one at my local walmart. i think i'll leave my NSX home though and take the DD. hehe

lol Whats the story behind not taking the nsx to Walmart?

I'm guessing because too much traffic there in terms of people and carts.
I always see people fling doors open wide to get stuff in, and not caring about dinging other peoples cars. And careless people pushing carts in between carts. Might on occasion see ghost rider carts flying into cars. That's why every time I need to drive my nsx there I park way in the corner where no one else does. Probably adds over a minute of walking to get inside, but worth the peace of mind.

Back on topic, I've used some autoglym products on my motorcycles before and they worked quite well.

i've used meguiars and it works wonders before meguiars i used turtle wax but that didn't last well. i wanna try something new.

this is whole new level. only wax from megs i used was mirrorglaze #16 and it was great on looks but didnt not last long i think. i heard from people who used AGHD that it lasts about 3-4 month.
collinite 845 lasts about 6-12 month with good surface prep. collinite 915 about 6 month, collinite 476 lasts good but not the best on looks and slickness. love 845 for winter, lets see how AG will do, ill try to get test car at work to see how well it lasts, gona try putting it on mine but it already has powerlock and cquartz

here is list of waxes that i have (some of them are samples like dodo panel pots)

Was at Walmart in South Austin, they had five or six left. My friend grabbed one, walked up to the cashier at the battery and tire cashier, and told him he would buy it for $10 since it was on clearance. Cashier was cool with that.

Saw it at Wal-Mart last week and almost picked it up. Went back today and no longer on the shelves. :frown:

Actually I am the opposite when I go to walmart in NSX - I park RIGHT in front of the door and only run inside far enough so I can still see the car, if there is anything further inside the store that I need to get that's just too bad.

I'll come back in another car.

On topic, I love autoglym - their vinyl cleaner is one of the best I have ever used.

I would really recommend not messing with pregnant women...

ever try to park near their oil changing shop(tire and lube center i think). car stuff is right near them too so you dont have to walk through whole store and check out is there as well . thats what i usualy do but then again i only have accord

picked up 3 more boxes today. now benselem walmart has 0. norristown, KOP and horsham walmart didnt had them. looks like only old layout stores have this wax, new layout stores didnt had them and i did go to 4 of them so it cant be coincidence

I went to the Foothill Ranch, California, Walmart tonight. They had one up-opened box, which I bought. There was another box without the plastic wrap. I opened it and saw that someone must have returned it. The cloth inside had wax on it.

Here's what I brought home:

picked me up a set of these bad boys. hopefully it's all what it says to be

If I have to go to Walmart I park at the front door.
and let my GF run inside and get what we need.

the security guy tells me i need to move my car I tell him OK roll my window up and stay parked there.

he knocks on the window again I tell him ok roll window back up.
stay there.

then he calls his manager he then comes out to ask me to move. I say OK and stay there.

they knock on the window again and tell me they are gonna call a tow truck I tell them ok. roll my window back up

they look like they are calling someone on the their cell phone. I laugh inside.

they knock on my window and tell me a tow truck has been called.

my GF come out gets in the NSX I smile honk and drive away.

I am basiclly keeping them busy/at bay with this move.

my car is safe with me in it and when my GF comes out and we always drive away.

wonder if they get charged for calling and then canceling the tow truck

I used AutoGlym waxes and polishes back in the 90s exclusively and found it to be a great lasting wax. I used it for years but then the distributor where I got it from no longer carried it. This must have been only available through detail shops or distributors directly as I never saw it on a store shelf before. I guess they're finally trying out the retail market. I wouldn't hesitate using it at all.

I tried the AutoGlym wax this Summer for the first time and was very impressed with it. Have tried lots of others but I think this is the best so far. I also use their quick detailer. Maybe not as good as the Mequires detailer but pretty good. Only I paid $50.00 for the wax.

Thanks Patty :smile:for the heads up on the Foothill Ranch store. They had 3 unopen boxes left and the open one you mentioned so I grabbed one. The Huntington Beach store near me did not have any and neither did the one in Westminster. Good thing I work in Foothill Ranch. Maybe I should go back get the other 2:biggrin:

Um, these things can happen anywhere you take the car. Heck, I'm not afraid to take mine anywhere. Gone to grocery store, Home Depot, Lowe's, movie theaters, etc.
What about the folks that the NSX is their only car? What are they supposed to do when needing to go somewhere??? It's just a car, nothing more.

Yes this can happen any where, but Walmart seems to be the worst. Maybe because it's the most busiest. Anyway, I'm not telling people not to go there or not park their cars in parking lots. I'm just saying what I do is park my car far away. Yes there are people that daily drive their NSX and they want to park wherever, that's fine by me. I just wouldn't in my NSX. Everyone will have a different take on this. For myself, my NSX is special to me.
