Looks like my DD civic is done for. I want another car that will last long like my civic did and give me good MPG like my civic did. Are there and cars like that out there that are priced the same or better. I just need it to go to work and dont care if it looks cool or not. I also want to get a pre owned one because I just dont want to buy a new new one. If you have any info please post it. Post the price range and MPG also how relible are they. Maybe at the end Ill end up with a civic again but need to see what else is out there.

Thanks

Get another Civic? I'd suggest the Fit as I have one and get 30 city and 39 highway mpg, lots of room. However I won't make excuses, it's a slug. You can push it to drive fast (ok fast for a Fit) which is nice but you kiss your mpg good bye. So if slow and go for DD is your thing, its not a bad car, but if you want a little more pep, look elsewhere.

Why don't you put some numerical values to what you are looking for?

One man's intepretation of an ideal DD might be different than another's.

For me I demand some sorta of performance from all of my cars (DD included). that could be handling, braking, HP/TQ.

My DD makes 600HP and on the freeway gets near 30MPGs (it helps that at 65MPH I'm just under 2k RPMs~). That's suffice for me since my usual commute is just a little over 11 miles each way.

I dont care about HP just gas mpg. I have 2 NSX's right now I could use one as a DD but I dont want to. I just looked at another civic going to pick it up this weekend so problem is solved. I guess why fix what works. My civic gave me 250k miles with out braking down once. So anothe civic is the way to go for me now that I think about it.

I looked into the fit but I just test drive the civic and the fit and I liked the civic more. The civic felt more like a family car and I kind of liked that about it. I dont have a family but the fit just felt a little to "cute" for me. I am geting the civic this weekend.

I would look at Crown Victoria Police Interceptors. You can pick up a good one for under 5 grand. They are bullet proof and super reliable. Built on a truck frame. The have 4.6L V8s and still get good gas mileage. I was getting 250-275 per tank on mine. Plus when your going down the freeway you own it. Everyone yields to you. Best feeling ever.

My brother has this car (black as well). He let me drive it back in VA and people totally get out of your way. Once we were at a gas station, a cops there and says "hey nice car..." classic.
