Mugen NSX RR

here is the inspiration for the design, now you tell me if you still think vents on the fender looks stupid

It looks stupid because the super gt car has proper proportions (especially the rear fenders). this concept has terrible lines Yes maybe it's more aerodynamic, has more downforce etc). Makes the rear wheels look odd. Side view mirrors look nice, if that's your thing.

It's nice that they still feel the car is worthy to modify, truly a classic platform. The NSX rocks. Period.

I hate widebody nsx's, I completely hate them and I would never EVER own one or drive one.

I don't even want to stand next to one

i generally don't like wide bodies either but the nsx needs to be a little wider so it can look like the race cars. i use to love how the green house was relatively narrow compared to the rest of the body, but after seeing it and getting used to it, i do wish they looked more like a prototype race car from either le man and etc. i don't like any other wide body for the NSX unless it looks like the real deal as in either the JGTC 500 look or the newer super GT 500 look.

Hey bud you know I was just kidding right? My 92 looks almost identical to this Mugen proto.

This car has some very nice details, such as the rear top edge of the front fenders. The area of the rear fender which extends beyond the taillights is also nice in my opinion. Did you guys notice the intricate inspection panels for the stanchion mounts for the spoiler? Also the trunklid is pretty cool, with raised edges to cloak the interior edges of the rear fenders.

I really like how they took the SGT concept and finished off all the ragged stuff from the actual racecar, closed off all the gaps, put returns on all the panel edges etc. The car is controversial but what I respect is the fit and finish and attention to detail. They have executed a street version of the racecar. Sort of like the street version of the clk gtr or 911 gt1

Lookin' at the Mugen NSX back in the day I'm kind of glad they didn't touch the NSX for the next 15 years.

This one is nothing but a "Super GT-look" for a street car. Not for me.

Dude, that's car just.... Made me jizzed all over my seat....

About time Mugen did some thing with the NSX again... it's been over someting like 15 years since they touch the NSX.

I bet you my car this car is not just for "looks," I bet you it is capable of eating an stock NA2 NSX-R without bothering to spit out the bones.

When Mugen built something, they built a masterpiece. When they used an existing masterpiece to built some thing.... Opus!!!

looks more aggressive than the SPOON version which is enjoying some good recent coverage. looks wise, its subjective and although its not love at first sight for me, i can get used to it and eventually love it. i do admit the front profile is beautiful and menacing in the rear-view. but the most important thing here either way is that the NSX is even STILL in the spotlight....it is still used in benchmark comparisons, tv/movie stand-ins and just continues to be exposed and covered.

this kind of attention keeps our cars young, in demand and timeless...not to mention the continued drumbeat for Honda to hear that we need a new iteration with the same blood, looks and DNA.

I love it! If anyone showed up with this at an xpo I'm sure there would be oh probably 30 pairs of completely empty testicles:wink:

well... in the Bling's photos you can see the interior of the Mugen NSX RR.

i highlight 2 thinks that draw my attention badly:

- All red suede/alcantara interior which looks very good

- The reworked center console. Look at the LCD, new electronics, etc... I wonder if they've ripped the Electronics idea from Vrooomm :tongue::tongue:

I'll take that bet. It says the car has no motor. It isn't capable of even moving without someone pushing it.

you sure fooled me man. like i said before, i would've sworn you sell these type of kits on your website.

Looks good but why would they kill the vents on the rear quarter panels? It doesn't look right......

Right now, that's exactly what it is: looks. Maybe I'll change my mind when it's completed. We'll just have to wait.

Also, I don't doubt Mugen's reputation on building masterpieces. I just don't consider their effort on the NSX quite up to par to their other projects.

Which Mugen offered Honda do you know has the RR badge? Off of top my head, only the Civic. And that thing is a beast.

Care to make a wager?

Probably because of the way the engine is mounted (from the picture), and the snorkel and possibly ITB?

The reason I believe they killed the side vents is because the Super GT version doesn't have it. Possibly cause the motor is mounted transverse and it's getting the air from the snorkel for the engine just like the Super GT version.

If they ever produce this which IMO probably won't happen because who will buy it? The cost would have to be outrageous. Transmission alone would put this car price tag to another level! I just don't think people are willing to buy this car... especially in this economy. People barely bought the original NSX so I dunno. However, I like the way it looks and it really gives tribute to the class it used to dominate.

Mugen have always been know to produce high quality products and I feel they're pretty consistent from their civic stuff up to their S2000 stuff. I would love for them to produce at least a promotional version of this car so I can see how it does on the track.

Sure, PM me the file name(s) plus your email address and I can send you the HD file

Hey Brian hows life treating you? The car is doing great - been modding it like crazy haha  www.enkrypted.com/nsx/rims for pics if you are interested... :)

Vance has a point.

Mugen is the closest to a fully legit nsx successor from Honda that we will EVER see.

It looks worlds better than anything Honda has been pulling out of their @ss these past couple years for street drivers.
